With male characters it tends to be that they have a virtue skill which they excel at then maybe if theyre an antihero they have a flaw skill like irritating their opponents a la John McClain but outside of a couple good skills (which required training) and maybe a beneficial personality flaw (which is not an asset in their daily life at all) they are mundane and even helpless at other things. The current crop of badass female characters are perfect at everything, lecture us and girls get it done on everything and its just boring. I love good female heroes but i haven't seen one in years.

Look at NIcole Kidman. She looks like a plastic doll. Ortega saved Wednesday. She had major conflicts with the script writers because she refused certain dialog/scenes because they were not at all in tune with the character. The writers on strike have even tried throwing shade at her.
