I love Parrot Tulips too. I'm a bird lover and have had quite a few over the years. The enormous Iris garden (over 100 varieties) also had some tulips and Parrot Tulips in there too. It was gorgeous when it was in bloom. I have pictures somewhere. Back when you had actual pictures. I've painted 0 parrot tulips. I have painted a regular tulip. But I'm going to try my hand at one this weekend.

I absolutely love this flower as well ❤️. There is a lot of texture, color variation, and beauty this flower has to admire. I especially like the Amazing Parrot for it's bright red and orange edges and also the Queensland Tulip for it's delicate pink color and very feathered edges. Gorgeous flower hands down. I’ve painted about 6 parrot tulips following your instructions in your book (I have e-book, it will be so amazing to win real book). But mine aren’t so beautiful like yours 😍 I’ve tried to paint in loose style on two different kinds of paper: arches 100% cotton and canson cellulose. And I definitely prefer canson because it’s more smooth and permits more control. Thank you Jenna for your tutorial. I was struggling with this flower. I find realistic style much more easy to paint than loose. It will be nice if you post some more loose style flowers from your book 💐

OK.. I painted three, sort of like yours (not very, haha!) I might add more, trying to make them more pastel-ish as I had too much color on the brush and either had puddly spots that needed mopping or not enough water and they dried soooo fast. Fun, though. Thanks!

Ok... Haven't tried painting any parrot tulips yet... But i def intend to now 😊. Been a subscriber for about a year (since i got your first book) but have no idea how to check whether that info is public. I tend to make things private if I have a choice, but don't remember ever seeing anything about whether channels I'm subscribed to are public or private. I promise I'm a subscriber! Think i'm going to mix up a grey/black for the stamen, i don't own mars black watercolour paint (its my way to keep myself from getting lazy about colour mixing dark tones)

I’ve been watching you for a while now. I am new to watercolor and find it fascinating. I like what you bring to your tutorials with your quirkiness and your relaxing voice. I would love to add your book to my small collection of how to watercolor. If I was to describe my style, it would be more of a free flow. Found your channel randomly but I had been wanting to expand my art skills. I wanted to know if you had used any art software like flame painter or rebelle. I hope you enjoy your experience with watercolor! For design, I use Adobe -- mostly Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, etc. So... i can't speak to those other programs you're referring to... Take care!

Hi jenna. I'am akshara, just a kid (and a beginner). Exactly I don't know what to do with my art progress. With acrylics I can paint well (that's what my parents told me) but I face some problems with watercolours. I love watercolour but don't know how to use them correctly , actually i have problems controlling the water. Your videos are trully helpful for a beginner like me. Love watching your videos. I've never even heard of a dragon tulip before! They look so pretty. I found your tutorials on leaves really helpful and I often rewatch them. My fav flower one is the anemone (?sp). I love blue so just watching you painting was beautiful. Flowers are one of my favourite thing to draw etc. Am about to search for your book on Amazon, but.... I was looking at the supplies you listed and the palette you used. I have many tubes of watercolour so am looking for a good palette to storage them between uses (the open blobs of paints, not the actual tubes). Clicking on your link, it says it may not be back in stock. So I wondered if you (or any of your other followers) could recommend a decent one? Or a good technique to reuse paint once out of the tube? I'm in the UK. Is hard to shop online for somethings when you can't feel them. I'm very much a toucher when it comes to arts and crafts things lol.

That's so pretty. 😊 I'm getting more Type B thanks to you! 😁 The only downside is that I'll create a really gorgeous colour and if I don't make a note of the mix immediately, I go back the next day and think 'what the heck was on that pallet?' 🤔 😂 I've been playing with a sword brush this weekend and I love it. It's a short one, so I think I might need to buy a longer 'dagger' brush too....well, that's my story and I'm sticking too it! 😁

UPDATE: Three! I painted three, painted along with your video, had to give it a try! They turned out mostly nice except the stamens... should have used a thinner brush! Thank you Jenna, while I have not painted a parrot tulip yet, I have learned so much from this video; I appreciate all the painting details, tips and reminders you put in your videos that apply not only to the flower you are painting but to flower painting in general, you just upped my petal and leaf skills immensely!
