There is a feature on KZbin where you press the CC button and it shows the subtitles of each video, Diana's video have good subtitles in many languages so you can do that. She also has a ton of songs in English and other languages. She did do high belting by the way in this song, maybe you mean she did not use her high register voice, if you want to see that watch her duet with Brandon Stone singing "The day you..." She goes higher than high there. As for the song it self, it is it is an old folk song that talks about a young Cossack warrior who fell asleep and saw in his dream that he was riding on a big field when an ominous wind began to blow which agitated his horse and blown away his hat. Later when his superior heard about his dream he commented that him losing his hat is an ill omen that foretells the loss of his head in combat.

This is an over 300 year old folk song about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song. I'm not sure how many people appreciate the emotional gasps she produces here that absolutely melt me.

On the first five performances, she showed that she was a vocal chameleon and imitated other singers so the judges would not guess her identity.
