i dont know whyyy... but for me... it looked the same as the rose met gala dress.... but colors inverted....it was OKAY but it could be better, making a real tribute to lagerfield is just NOT using something that already exists, its using that to make something new and extravagant... and yes... how is it possible that artists with the same, less and higher fame/net worth etc etc than blackpink,are capable to participate in the creative participation of the design of those beautiful clothing... sometimes I just think is an excuse to say "they have no choice", like... i think they have 2 options: or they are being used just for cash and the brand already know they sell everywhere they go, so they think to sell something more wearable, or they are just lazy to even give an opinion of what they want to wear and on purpose people blame the brand.

A lot of celebs looked boring and plain at the Met Gala this year, but then again that's how Karl dressed regularly almost always in the typical black and white ensemble so I think the theme and the fact that the brands usually choose what someone wears had a big impact on what she was able to get. And not just for Jennie here, a lot of people are simply given a few select choices and they pick from those and it's a well-known industry fact because fashion houses aren't just sitting there ready to sew up a bunch of elaborate looks unless you're maybe Versace. Now that's not saying some celebs don't get involved in the designing and creation of the outfit but those are usually the ones with a lot of time to spare on planning with the fashion labels. Chanel did do her dirty though...same with how YSL just let Rosé wear that knot dress...like come on there are so many other really Met worthy looks you could have pulled from the archives even if you didn't make them custom outfits. Like the dress Dua Lipa wore was a good choice, although her styling was meh given the simplicity of the gown. Or like Penelope Cruz whose dress I hated but she still fit the Met vibe. Idk coming from a brand with a such a long history of iconic runway pieces it was like they just threw leftovers at her. While I don't hate Jennie's dress I will never understand a simple approach to this event for anyone because it's literally one of few events you can dress in these crazy ensembles and it's actually appropriate for the venue. The theme itself this year was a big ?????? like there was nothing else to celebrate???? She looked beautiful regardless. Makeup artist slayed.

You must not know enough Karl Lagerfeld looks if you consider his style simple. He was a versatile designer who created timeless, sophisticated and dramatic pieces yet most celebrities like Jennie choose to be boring. Many of them took simpler versions from his late nighties looks which were a very monochromatic era It's as if they just can never dare to be bold. Jennie had a very traditional tailored look that is NOT carpet worthy and tried to make it so but failed miserably it was lackluster and her reluctance to add any extravagant jewels or head pieces, things which by the way were a staple for Karl Lagerfeld designs, made her only the more bland and forgettable. It genuinely was a waste of a gala

I dunno why some people are allergic to giving blackpink girls their due criticism. Her outfit was boring Lazy & uninspired plain & simple. "At least she was on theme" like be fr I can name a few others that WERE on theme but slayed so that's really is just a sloppy excuse for a reasoning lol. Anne hathaway wore custom versace tweed gown that was a reference of chanel using tweed in most collections with camelia flowers (staple flower of chanel that Karl touched upon too) and she was easily one of the best dressed of the night. Teyana Taylor wore Thom Brown tweed suit-style slim gown, obvious reference to Karl's signature 'suit' style & chanel's use of tweed too. And I can name so many others that tried: Cardi B, Bad Bunny, Conan Gray heck a LOT of men even tried this year to not show up in 'basic boring tuxedos' but actually show up in theme and DELIVER at the same time so for her a Chanel AMBASSADOR being outclassed by others who are not and didn't even wore chanel to deliver and slay the theme in the Met Gala is embarassing.

Kpop Idols just don’t fit to the met gala. I‘m sorry to say this but it‘s true. Kpop and met doesn’t go hand in hand AT ALL. And it‘s really annoying how Hollywood tried to incorporate them into Hollywood although they have no talent and come from a pretty conservative and different culture just because they have massively many fans. Like BTS never fit in when they came to America as well, heck they couldn’t even speak English. They were so awkward and didn’t belong. At least Blackpink seems to fit in much better than Bts but that‘s probably because Rose and Jennie both lived a long time outside of Korea and speak English fluently. I just still think that kpop and Hollywood doesn’t match or go together. And they need to stop inviting kpop idols to the met gala. It‘s weird and just doesn’t fit. When some say they are more fashion influencers and still they give bare minimum. As per the interview she said "its comfortable I can sit down", one who is too invested in fashion should know its not about comfortableness, this look of her is suitable for fashion events but met gala n cannes are the place where its all about adapting to weird, good and bad designs all combined together. Being comfortable should be the last thing in mind for this event. We've seen kpop idols with shorts n dresses millions of times, so them dressing up the same for this... Its obvious ppl will say the outfit is basic. Changes should be done either to outfit or the hair n accessories, everything being simple will look bland. Jennie did serve this but for this event it's a big no.
