jen is really literally a one of a kind of celebrity. she's very down to earth, never let the fame get to her head, still as sweet and loving as she was 30 years ago. she's very private about her life and keeps it that way and doesn't just go out and about sharing everything, which keeps that mystery around her which makes her just more loveable in my opinion. and to top it off, she has the greatest sense of style, in decorating, in clothes, in just everything.

While I was looking for a walk through of the house with Jen, I was surprised that it was an interview of Stephen Shadley. It was great to see him front and center and get the credit he deserves. Often time with celeb walking through their home, they fail to mention who made that interior happen.

Stephen Shadley seems to be such a nice and humble man :)
@hopetomorrow39663 жыл бұрын
Okay, so let's talk about the architect. This man has a youthfulness, humility and pleasantness to him that I find genuinely startling and looking at the comments a lot of people seem to agree. His aura is so vivid that you can't help but notice it but at the same time it's not overwhelming. This video is about the design in Jen's house yet I found his mannerisms and his voice more intriguing especially when contrasted to the interviewer. I think it's profound that someone like him -an expert at what he does and one who is and has been in the kind of circles that his work would allow him to frequent- seems so approachable and considerate of the voice of other people (the interviewer) even when he is the one who has been invited to speak on a topic he obviously has a higher information on. The lack of condescension in his tone when he agrees with the interviewer who answers a question she asked herself is beautiful. You've represented yourself well in 11 minutes sir. It would be an honour to work with you on a space one day.

It feels like she's in competition with the designer, both in what she knows and how she knows "Jen" better!! It's more annoying the second time!!! Finishing his sentences! **HE IS THE DESIGNER OF HER HOME** !!!!! She actually said, and implied that it was all Jennifer....to the *designer*. Dreadful He deserved better!

@cd16736 жыл бұрын
Ms Rana Ms Rana except it wasn't... the title was; (Paraphrased) 'Jennifer's DESIGNER breaks down'... she finished his sentences and stepped over every single sentence... Example: 2:13 he starts to talk, seconds later she says; "yeah yeah yeah", cutting off his pov and proceeds to inject HER pov... at 2:32 he again starts to talk about Justin's pov... 2 seconds later she cuts him off yet again to inject HER points again!! This was repeated throughout the... I can't even call it an 'interview'... ?? Here's the question. This was supposed to be a designer's point of view on designing 2 of Jennifer's homes and included her boyfriend, right? Without watching it again, what do you remember about what HE said ???? Again, he was seriously short changed here and that's a real shame.
@pb45316 жыл бұрын
Agree. What I found equally annoying was her pushy tabloid need to find out about the couple and couple dynamics at the beginning. Stephen obviously has more professionalism than that, so good for him applying the discretion he wasnt afforded by Amy the interviewer. He remained focused on the design components and the influences coming together rather than about the personal wife & husband per se. Let's respect designers better Arch Digest by remembering they are interviewed to present the vision agreed with their client and how it was executed. It is not the designer's role to discuss client's relationship & certainly not for the insight Amy was pushing for.

This is one of the better examples I have seen on +Architectural Digest. Everything from the textures and lighting (that Tiffany is sublime), and other embellishments such as the clever tapestry that somehow comes across as screaming fabulousness whilst quietly sharing its space with the Shoemaker desk, only enhancing the qualities of each item without anything dominating, or appearing _too much_ or cluttered. The barstools have always been a favorite of mine and I've spotted a couple of other Blackman Cruz beauties as well. Sorry, blathering on. I just get excited when I see such great design placed together without them appearing anything less than fully functioning and functional items. There's nothing museum like or contrived about this home and yet any of these items are worthy of a degree of, shall we say - reverence? And as much as I love them, it's great that there's not a Wassily, Le Corbusier or Eames chair to be seen. Though I'd ditch the buddah.
