JEN really represents that fusion sound in the late 80s when if you couldn't be in a jazz program and were a "rocker" you were out for blood, to show you had the Jazz knowledge but were progressing forward in an innovative way I like how Jen Batten gives props to Jazz Artist Joe Dorio for her approach wide intervals You don't see to many players using SYNTH but Jen is on that learning curve, too Love her work with the other JB Jeff Beck

Thank you for this ! I knew of Jennifer Batten in the 1990's and what a mean guitar she played. I haven't thought of her since and just found this on KZbin. It's great !

I love Jennifer Batten, what a talented guitarist and beautiful human-being; but I had to smile at this video... it makes me think of what could happen if your Mum went out shopping and went into the guitar store rather than Sainsbury's. It's like from an image-perspective, Jennifer is morphing into Sister Rosetta Tharpe... and there's nothing wrong with that. Amazing...

I bet she goes into guitar stores unrecognized, and the staff is mumbling "What is this hausfrau even doing in here?" before crapping themselves when she starts playing, just for laughs.

She looks like a member of the Wreaking Crew. Saw the Documentary on Netflix the studio musicians Brian Wilson used had a female guitarist with great hands

I think she would be recognised by people who know about the famous guitarists, she is pretty famous and is mentioned by Buckethead as one of his influences. Also toured a lot with Michael Jackson. If you know who Jeff Beck is, you should probably know Jennifer is as well.

I feel you man, I do not use it either. I could give it a try, I've seen guys with tremendous skills using it.

My cats enjoy JB...and not just cos of "Catfight." Whenever she's playing, one of them goes right up to the speaker...tries to get behind it! Another one stops whatever she's doing and sits to listen. Really strange, considering that if I even _pick up_ my guitar, they're out the catflap in a flash! Proof that cats know a thing or two about guitars...

Jennifer makes it look so damned easy. Her facial expression is the same as if she were cooking spaghetti bolognese or something. No effort. I'm NOT suggesting that she should be in the kitchen! God forbid! She's probably a rotten cook anyway! She's welcome to come to my house for a meal. I'll cook while she plays...

I think its a string dampener like what Michael Angelo Batio uses on his guitars to keep string noise to a minimum.

just for me, my preference or opinion for my own playing is to rather do the best i can without that thing, just makes sense that i wont need a tool... but even crappy mistakes this chick would make would sound like my best playing ;)
@prutissbartlow88357 жыл бұрын
okay she sounds like a legend a lot of sewing fancy finger work but where's the Hey Joe as posted she kind of lost me there she's like an artist painting abstract painting to me it looks like she's doing a lot of warm ups Reminiscing on some past notes if that was her introduction is a little bit long it's like I'm waiting for the four-course meal here just might take piece again great guitars specially for a female she needs more recognition intimidation I guess from a male orchestrated Guitar World scene

you can sure see shes a really great guitarist but I just don't get it I guess . the guitar sounds were weird and disjointed but what the heck was all that racket in the background , just noise !

Okay...a lot of notes...ok...but where is the music?? After 5 minutes its boring. Sorry not my thing. It has no SOUL. It reminds me a of Bonamassa the early days...Covers..loud..456 notes a minute...and no music Btw he changed his style and how!!! She has to listen to Paul Kossoff as Bonamassa did.
