Disagreement seemed pretty civil to me / not sure why anyone needs to “leave HNIC or lose their job” - Jesus the overreactions here are wild

That was close enough to be an elbow to the head IMO.

Fine line between clean and close enough. That’s why people like Bieksa are awesome to have analyzing. Jenn needs to leave though; she is completely insufferable and knows little to nothing about the game.

If you extend your elbow in the direction that Trouba did, that’s not a move where you’re protecting yourself while doing a hit! That’s a deliberate move to widen your body to slow down someone instead of using your hand. I agree on the grey area it’s in but by the track record of Trouba, who by the way is a very tall player, I would say he doesn’t hold back or worry about the legality of his hits. Botterill is not exhausting, she is a voice of reason on head injuries that end careers or CTE in later life! If I’m doing my job that I love and someone is acting carelessly and injures me I’m not going to be happy down the road where I’m a shell of the person I used to be because of a grey area!

I'm confused why are the comments so recent when this happened 5 months ago?
@Ccisports7 сағат бұрын
Botterill had another freak out this Saturday and almost cried on tv about the Penguins and Habs end of game battles.

It’s the most obvious and blatant elbow extended straight out in front of himself to reach before he gets right past and to the net. There’s no defence for this blatant elbow to the face.

I dunno bieksa. That was clearly an elbow to the face/head

Botterill is exhausting…always ”woman-splaining” about etiquette and the physical aspects of the NHL, to former NHLers. It’s time to move her to the PWHL where she can comment on a game that she understands.

Ah yes, the age old "the woman is the problem" adage. Because Ron and the rest of them do such an amazing job. I like Bieksa most nights but if you can't stand a woman telling a man he's wrong I feel sorry for you. It takes too much out of a person to be misogynistic. I hope you can do better.
@mikec3971Күн бұрын
@@TrevorFryer "misogynistic"...seems I struck a nerve. hahahaha She's a DEI hire and a narcissist, who refuses to acknowledge the differences between the mens game vs womens game. When it comes to her understanding the game within the game in the NHL, she is completely clueless.
@Ccisports5 сағат бұрын
I disagree with you that she is a DEI hire. She is a very skilled experienced decorated and highly educated hockey player. However i do agree that she cannot see the difference between the physicality of the men’s and women’s games sometimes and she gets super defensive about it. She has been working on taking things to personally though. This weekend was the first time in assume she got that defensive about something i was very impressed with her work on that last season.
@mikec39714 сағат бұрын
@ none of her credentials and experience relate to the NHL. All the female analysts are DEI hires, however Campbell-Pascall and Pounder analysis make sense. Boterill is a narcissist and has a disdain for the physical elements of the NHL. Her attitude was on full display a couple nights ago when she said to Bieksa “…guess what, the game is changing…”. Most of the time, when she speaks the panel sits silent until she’s done and they move on. I feel sorry for those guys having to stomach the nonsense that comes out of her mouth. 😂

He said it rolled up his shoulder and that it wasn’t an elbow. It was a forearm shiver.

@@Ccisports yes, he says that after clearly seeing that it was indeed an elbow. And if he’s gonna make the excuse that it’s a “forearm shot” and that’s a type of play he would’ve made, then bieksa is a dirty player as well
