I think that Dexter would have been unanimously acclaimed (by legitimate critics, obviously) as the greatest show of all time if Dexter died in the finale. Personally, I would have hated it, but poetically it would have been perfect. Best show ever regardless, but I think it would have been more widely acknowledged if he died during the finale.

Spoiler Alert!!!!!! The ending pissed me off so much. All this time Dexter talks about how important it is that he's there to protect Harrison. And just a couple episodes prior he got mad at Deb for trying to kill him because he won't be around to take care of Harrison. Then the end it by him abandoning his son with some psycho bitch he barely knows in Argentina???? No that's not okay. They better pick up the show they left too many loose ends. In my opinion he should have gotten caught so all of Miami knows who the real Bay Harbor Butcher is. I'd love to see all of his coworkers reaction and Cody and Astor's reaction. Maybe the ending scene could be him getting electrocuted and Deb takes care of Harrison. Either way the ending was such bull shit. I will never get over this.
