@Jeffrey Price _"Ripley wasn't even the lead in Alien. The Alien was...and guess what, she was female as well!"_ Alien was the monster of the movie and also had WAY less screen time than Ripley had. So I had no idea how you define lead actor when creature you mentioned is not even actor but a puppet. It's few and far between when a monster actually feels like actual character instead of force of nature and usually they have actor behind them in those cases, or they are very finely animated/portrayed otherwise so they have more dimensions behind them than one. Creature that occasionally kills someone is rarely worth mentioning in that category.

Linda Hamilton was tougher than Arnold in T2. And Michelle Yeoh was starring in action movies in Asia long before coming over to star in Crouching Tiger.

Linda Hamilton tougher...maybe...but T2 wouldn't be the blockbuster it was without Arnold.

@@arkadeyellow2931 I disagree. They could've used any female actress for that role and that movie would still work as long as Arnold was in it. Arnold carried that movie not Hamilton. Granted, she was in the original so it made sense to use her in T2. But her casting wasn't as important as Arnold. Even Cameron admitted that and he was married to her at one point.

She is out there.... She also thinks she was the type of lead those other women even were. She was a lead, but also had Josh and others to make the movies what they were. Sigourney Weaver, and many more to name, have all single handedly carried a movie.

WHAT YOU SAY, MAN???.....Two things wrong with Catwoman. The animated scenes on the rooftops were too fast. Thus, looked cartoonish. And licking the milk. Otherwise, the movie was a lot of fun. And NOBODY ever had better skin tones in a movie than Halle Berry. By the way, the soundtrack and titles were great.

Because a lot of what was said in that interview is untrue, and Viola should know; Viola is responsible too for such a shameful interview. They both and Variety owe the audience, and fellow actresses, an apology.

90's was when the Female action leads blew up in popularity. I like to think it was because of Xena Princess Warrior. That was a classic. DC jumped on board, then Marvel in 2000. Now in the post 2000 Hollywood era, Female action leads are more common than male leads. Its the shock value of a woman actually being physically stronger than a male that people like to see. It's fun.
