I feel like JLo's career is such a testament to the value of hard work. She's had a few hit songs, a few hit movies, and a few hit TV shows, but really, she's never been as huge as stars like Britney Spears or Justin Bieber at any point in her music career. But she's always just been around, working her ass off, making more art, fighting to stay relevant and strong and fun. And IT HAS WORKED! Suddenly, you look back on her 20 year career and realize, wait, she actually has a whole catalog of hits! Because she didn't stop. She kept fighting. She kept performing. She never got too big for her britches. It's inspiring.

It is actually still named to "Michael Jackson Vanguard Award", but the general public usually just shorten it. But to your comment, Jennifer did pay respect to him in the recent interviews before recieving this award. Especially, when she went on MTV's TRL to discuss the honor. She spoke highly of him. In the past, she has said "Smooth Criminal" was her favorite MJ song/video, and considers it a huge influence in her career along with Janet's "Pleasure Principle". 🙂
