Jennifer Nansubuga Makumbi is a fiction writer and lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her first novel, Kintu, won the Kwani Manuscript Project in 2013. Let’s Tell This Story Properly won the 2014 Commonwealth Short Story Prize. Her collection of short stories will come out in 2019 followed by a second novel in 2020. She is a recipient of the Windham-Campbell Literature Prize 2018.
NoViolet Bulawayo’s debut novel, We Need New Names, was recognised with the Hurston/Wright Legacy Award, the Pen/Hemingway Award, the LA Times Book Prize Art Seidenbaum Award for First Fiction, and shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize, the International Literature Award and the Guardian First Book Award.

Zukiswa Wanner is the author of four novels, two works of non-fiction, two children’s books and several short stories. She is the curator of Artistic Encounters in Nairobi, an initiative that brings two different art forms on stage at the same time. When not writing, the 2018 JIAS Writing Fellow works on her pan-African publishing venture, Paivapo.

Described as the 'greatest literary show on Earth', the Jaipur Literature Festival is a sumptuous feast of ideas.
The past decade has seen it transform into a global literary phenomenon having hosted nearly 2000 speakers and welcoming over a million book lovers from across India and the globe. Our core values remain unchanged: to serve as a democratic, non-aligned platform offering free and fair access.

Ananthamurthy along with literary luminaries including Amish Tripathi, Chima¬manda Ngozi Adichie, Vikram Chandra and Vikram Seth. An annual event that goes beyond literature, the Festival has also hosted Amartya Sen, Amitabh Bachchan, the late A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Oprah Winfrey, Stephen Fry, Thomas Piketty and former president of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai.
The Jaipur Literature Festival is a flagship event of Teamwork Arts, which produces over 33 highly acclaimed performing arts, visual arts and literary festivals across more than 40 cities globally.
