As a family practitioner if a patient had come into my office with the symptoms I had I would think they were crazy. Before becoming disabled from CRPS I actually had one patient that I diagnosed with this condition after she bounced around to specialist after specialist even a neurologist I told her about my condition and she was in amazement of the similar symptoms she just had them in an upper extremity while mine was lower. Been using a power scooter for ten plus years and have found two doctors whose goal is to get me back to work. Stay positive hope exists! God bless all!!!

Great to hear your story Jennifer! I am a musician who has crps in my arms and neck. Shout out to Chicago Shirley Ryan Ability Lab. They really helped me improve my quality of life. There have been many ups and downs in my journey. When I am doing great and my flare ups are under control, I am able to play music for short amounts of time without disturbing my body too much. Still I wish for a day that I can play in some kind of normal capacity. Would love to be able to perform and make spontaneous music with other artists again.

Yes! I've been educating the doctors and had to drive the multi-disciplinary approach. It's been quite a gauntlet! Did anybody get depressed with their CRPS? Any advice on how to navigate the Disability nightmare? When the doctors say there's nothing more they can do for me, but the Disability Insurance Company says I must be under a dr's ongoing care. And my own chronic pain doctor says edema is not related to my CRPS when it absolutely is. It's so frustrating. My Primary refers me to the Chronic Pain Spclst who refers me to Psychiatry and so now the Disability Company wants to change my status to be a "mental health" Disability. They don't know it's all related,, as well as all my other symptoms. I wrote an email to RSDS but no one has answered it. I'm the patient, but i never just get to be the patient. I constantly have to advocate for myself. It's exhausting.
