🎙️ An apology from the team… You may notice that our sound is a little glitchy in this episode. There was a technical issue that we were not aware of until after recording, and we have done our best to rectify it - these things happen and hopefully we won’t run into this problem again! 🎙️

I think she is one of the most beautiful women on the planet. Her face is extraordinary. The different looks she can take on with just a slight change in make-up is mind-blowing. I would kill to have cheek bones like her. Stunning lady.

But she obviously doesn't like her teeth. She tries to hide them when talking, but when she does laugh you see they are fine. Just normal, unlike Rob's distracting dazzlers.

Jennifer Saunders is a legend, can’t think of anything she starred in that I didn’t like but while I think most people tend to single Ab Fab as her best show, I would say that French&Saunders is just a utterly mad, brilliant show, she and Dawn are two of my personal heroes and every time I feel sad I know that I can go on KZbin and search some of their sketch’s, great interview 🙌

What a treat. It was in a film class in Los Angeles I watched my first episode of French & Saunders, this was almost two decades back. Hysterical. Their sending up of Fellini (Franco y Sandro) and Bergman had me on the floor. A couple of geniuses, those two. And what a treat they'll be paired together again in Death on the Nile. A clever wink from Branagh. Can't wait.

French and Saunders is easily one of the funniest shows of all time. Saunders' deadpan and understated humor in particular was the perfect foil to Dawn. Reminded me of Peter Cook's foil to Dudley Moore from the 60s.

Thank you for posting this! I love Jennifer and Rob. I'm 10 years younger than Jennifer, and was born in Milan and lived there until about 1971-1972. We lived across from a palace-type place where an elderly Count lived. I'm not sure if we were there at the same time, but something unexpected in common. My father was from London.

Those F&S skits from the 90s are some of the only comedy that I've nearly literally wet myself with laughter over. I don't think their contribution to British comedy can be underestimated. F&S and the original 3 series of Ab Fab have been absolutely intrinsic to my own sense of humour and sense of the world.

It is hard to believe that Jennifer was so excited to be in a film after all the fame she's garnered for F&S and Ab Fab. Before Ab Fab became available to stream, I actually bought the DVDs. I was pleasantly surprised to see her on WILTY! I watched to see if she laughed at David's and Lee's antics. I wanted to see if she found them as funny as I do! Thanks for this interview. More, please!

And she was in Muppet Treasure Island(!) and has done voice acting in films, but I guess there's fewer movie stars and flashy sets for those... (Tbf pretty sure she didn't have any scenes with Kermit or Tim Curry, who I'd be star struck around) But, it must have been both wonderful and slightly surreal to be doing it with Dawn after their history.

Those Hollywood actors are no different to Jennifer Sanders, they are just people. Surprised she puts them on a pedestal, they are not special.
@Fantasmister3 жыл бұрын
I'm surprised that they're surprised. She was in Shrek 2, and Dawn French was in Harry Potter 3. Both huge movies, and certainly bigger than Death on the Nile.
@mustafa1name3 жыл бұрын
The relative size of the movies is irrelevant. Shrek 2 only involved 4 days of voice recordings for an animated character. Death on the Nile meant being on elaborate sets in a studio, location work in Morocco, and hanging out with some famous actors and high quality crew. If you can't understand the difference between those experiences, you probably get surprised a lot.
@helenl31932 жыл бұрын
Plus I think this is the only time they've been able to work together on a film/Hollywood project. That's what she was getting at - as 20 y.o. they joked about getting carried off to do a fantastic* a Hollywood movie together, and it finally happened! Not only that but an expensive location shoot (her bit on Muppet Treasure Island was in a Elstree or Shepperton studio) with even the Hollywood actors excited about the sets, so it was proper swanky! *fantastic/fantastical in the project's scale, rather than quality of the finished thing - I've not seen it so can't comment on that.
