Right now I'm watching "Johnny Be Good" on Amazon, starring Anthony Michael Hall, Robert Downey, Jr., Uma Thurman (her first movie) and Jennifer Tilly, et al. Tilly is using her baby-doll voice in the movie and I wanted to hear her real voice. I think she uses her natural voice in Bound, but I'd have to get out my DVD to be sure. I remember in college about 20 years ago one of my classmates was using a baby-doll voice, but passing it off as natural. One day she fell out of character (I think she was tired), and this deep, melodious voice rolled out of her. She cleared her throat, and the baby-doll resumed. I much preferred the deeper version! Never got around to asking her why she thought the baby-doll was necessary, but I imagined that she thought it made her more approachable. She should be 38 or 39 now, hopefully she dropped the baby-doll years ago.
