Meet our dog..LYKA DOERING! This crazy puppy's life over the last year with help from Audrey Doering

2020 is the year we all got dogs. Our older Chesapeake Bay retriever, Sandy, died this year but we welcomed Lyka into our home 7 months before. Steven and Audrey named her after the first dog is space even if the spelling isn't the same. Sadly the real "space dog" never came home but ours is busy jumping everywhere!

Yes! The dog was a Russian mutt. Actually a sad story so not sure why they picked the name but it is perfect for her.

Something that goes through my mind with Gracie's family. In life, we spend lots of time with people we naturally connect with and feel close to and people who live in the same subculture - if that makes sense. If Gracie's parents and family were people that you were not naturally attracted to and would want to spend time with, just because you werent each other's type, that would make life hard. Like working with a co-worker that you didnt click with.

They are actually a very nice family but the girls are very different in many ways. We have so many complicating factors but the amazing part is that these girls will always have each other!

@@JenniferDoering - that is the absolute best gift you could give them in life. I deliberately got pregnant after my relationship fell apart because I wanted to make sure my son would always have someone he was close to all his life, after I was gone. Thats interesting that the girls are so different. I remember you mentioning in another video that there were complicating factors, and having not gone through your experience, I wondered what they might have been

What breed is Lyka? I like his dark brown coat. Rather unusual.

Chesapeake Bay Retriever . They have curly coats to dry quickly. She is the smallest one we have had of our 3. Our other dog is the same kind but different color.
