If you don't have pigment ink, stamp with an embossing ink then sprinkle on your embossing powder. When you run your piece through the laminator the heat will melt your powder and trap it in between. Love all these ideas!
@ariesgirl34444 жыл бұрын
So Crystal, the embossing powder doesn't smudge with the pressure when it goes through the laminator?
@shaymarie70454 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing.
@amkarei4 жыл бұрын
Educate me, please...that is such an interesting premise, but you really can't use an embossing buddy in that application, so how would you keep the embossing powder JUST on the stamped places where you want it? Don't mean to be a nay-sayer, but I'm thinking the static of the plastic laminating sheets would have the embossing powder all over inside the pouch.

Oh my word, I had laminated a stamped book mark & thought, hmmm, I bet I can make a shaker card with this plastic since it’s heat resistant & hardens after it goes through the laminator. Brilliant minds!!! I hadn’t tested this out yet, so I’m so very grateful you discovered this & utilized & shared this technique! You’re fabulous Jennifer!!! You’re cards are GORGEOUS!!! As always, thanks you so much for sharing your time, talent and creativity! Stay well, blessings always!!!

Mine bombed! I even used the flourish stamp like you showed, used my heat gun because it was a new ink pad. Just didn’t dry it enough, I guess. It melted big time. LOL. but I think it can be used as a background for shaker card so all is not lost. I will try the technique again and just leave it alone until I am absolutely certain it is dry. This is a great idea and I’m looking forward to getting it right the second time. Thanks, Jennifer. These are wonderful ways to use these beautiful stamps.

I have been stamping on the inside of laminating pouches for years, but I never thought to use laminating pouches in a card. I do it for stamp storage. I stamp images on the inside of the pouch so that the stamp aligns with the image just as it does on the original registration sheet that comes with the stamp. I organize my stamps by theme rather than by manufacturer. I put white cardstock in the laminating pouch too so that I can write down info about the stamp and to make a sturdy backing. I love a good technique video.
@Pebblesmas4 жыл бұрын
What an amazing idea too!!
@905lovest4 жыл бұрын
rtd1791, that is a BRILLIANT concept!!! I too am organizing all of my stamps and dies by theme, am almost finished doing clear/cling stamps and all dies, then I have to decide what to do with my wood-mounted stamps. I have used a ton of double-sided tape rolls to affix clear stamps to the acetate that usually came with the stamp set, but this would have been SO much better!!! I have put my stamps and dies in folders as well... If I was doing it again, I might not, but I had put too much into this to change... I do use laminating pouches for rubber cling stamps--when I started out doing this, I contacted manufacturers to see if it was safe to use acetate with the cling stamps and was told it was fine, but later was told that I should not use them. Instead of buying lots of commercially-available laminated pages, I bought an inexpensive laminator and used pouches myself. I love your idea and had to stop and say how brilliant is your idea.
@amkarei4 жыл бұрын
O - M - GOSH & BY GOLLY!!!! I've SOOOOOO been puzzling over how I was going to make index sheets for the theme-based sorting I'll be doing -- AND YOU BLESSED ME with the ANSWER!!! I thought of StaZon-stamped acetate sheets, but wasn't certain as to just how durable they would be over time, and, never having had experience w/ that product, I wasn't sure if I really wanted to brave it (It has a "reputation", you know! tee-hee) Thank you, THANK YOU, rtd1791!!!!! (By the way, any input on HOW you sort the sentiments stamps? Or do you use AIRTABLE or EVERNOTE to keep them from getting "lost"??) (PS: THX AGAIN!!!)

This is brilliant!!!! Thanks for sharing....a tip, instead of putting the scrap of card stock in the top of the pouch, you can fold a piece of standard typing paper in half horozontally, and put the end of the pouch in it, like a folder and run that through, that way you can use the typing paper over and over.
@MiMi851913 жыл бұрын
That doesn't work for me... Or yes it works but the lamination does not look that good at the area where the paper was... Maybe it's my laminator or the cheap laminating pouch?!

Hi Jennifer, I was so excited to get the new Gina K Designs kit I neglected to comment for your new tutorial! Let me say, light bulb over the head, Idea to creative adventures. I just purchased the RS laminator and had the pouch get caught and caused a jam that could not be fixed, thankfully, the laminator was returned, and replaced with no cost to me. I received it two days ago. I remember watching one of your video with regard to using parchment paper, well I have parchment paper, but I do a GREAT DEAL of baking and did not want to waste it so I have many reams of copy paper and used that; and it worked great, however, the pouch wrinkled a bit. New user, I'll get use to adding the pouch in better. Anyway, sorry for the long message, just want today that I added snowflake glitter embossing power in the pouch and the results were beautiful. So what I did was cut the pouches in one inch strips and used it as a belly band for the tree ornaments on my card. You inspire me to get more creative, in using my tools and products. Thank you. Wonderful tutorial. I hope I'm successful in getting through to Gina K website, if not, I have the Hero Arts kit that I just received two days ago too, and will use that.
