I found my way here today because of an email from Quiltfolk, promoting your Manx Log Cabin virtual workshop. There was a link to a trailer describing the workshop, and the moment I heard your accent, I thought of my mum's family. I'm in the U.S., but my mum was a war bride from Doncaster. We were fortunate enough to be able to live in Harrogate in the 1960s, and listening to you takes me back to happy times when I was a teenager then. Living in England, and being close to my grandparents, aunties, uncles, and cousins was one of the best times in my life. I fell in love with Liberty fabrics through Laura Ashley clothing (did LA use Liberty prints?), and began quilting after the U.S. bicentennial revived the craft in 1976. I once visited the Liberty store in London, and bought fabric for clothing. I'm really excited about Liberty Lowdown, and bought your book this morning!

Hi Kathy, thanks for taking time to message! Laura Ashley didn’t use Liberty so far as I know but the english country cottage was very on trend in the 80’s! I was born in 1976 so you have many quilting years on me. I hope you enjoy the book!!

This was such a fun segment. I love your book, all your picks for this video, and the community you’re building with your fantastic workshops, collaborative projects, etc. P.S. I recently ordered the Iphis leggings and am anxiously awaiting their arrival in the post. 💕

Very inspirational and entertaining! I love Liberty fabrics and was very tempted to buy your book a few weeks back, but after a phone call to my best friend (who also loves sewing), it appears that she has bought it for me for my birthday, so I’m really looking forward to receiving it in July.

What a lovely start to the day ☺️ can I ask a question please ? When you make a dress with Liberty fabric, do you line it and if so what with ? Is the lovely dress you are wearing lined ? Many thanks Rosi
@JenniSmithSews3 жыл бұрын
Hi Rosa the dress I am wearing is Liberty poplin and unlined but I tend to line at least the bodice when I use Tana Lawn with lining fabric or a lightweight cotton. I think I will do this for the blue dress or it may be quite transparent.

What a lovely LOVELY video you two make! I enjoyed it sooo much! I really want to have the book, but think I have to buy one unsigned in Holland because of the high price of costum fees I have to pay when I order some goods in England. I did in the month March and had too pay almost 35 euro for fees for something I payed 75 euro for. I subscribed to you channel and want to leave a comment because of your realy nice perfomance in here with all that lovely information. You've done a good job :-) Love it!

Thank you Margy - import taxes are tricky especially now with Brexit so I hope you can find a copy easily. It is kind to make time to watch and comment. Thank you!
