Ive been bleaching my hair myself for about 6 years now and I STILL 100% recommend going to a professional if you can afford it and have access to one. Bleaching at home can be such a huge risk, it’s tedious, and it will never be salon quality (even if it’s really cute lol). These tips were spot on. So glad you made this video to educate people about color treated hair. Color treated hair does not automatically mean damage or breakage but many people believe that. Your color looks so great btw 💕

Colored hair needs Amino acids. I have been color treated for over a year now and amino acids have been a key part of my journey. When you style your oil should be your finishing touch. Oils will help with with the split ends. I do deep conditioner every week. I also do a protein treatment once in a while. I don’t do it often because I am using an amino acid range already.

Naptural85 was actually able to use box dye after henna. The henna she used was pure high quality and the box dye (non-bleach but permanent) was a specific type. I can't remember the exact dye she used, but the henna was from Henna Sooq. She discussed her selection process based on her research and also enforced the fact that u can do it safely with all types of henna or box dye.
@lizferguson92832 жыл бұрын
The dye Natural85 used was Garnier Olia. There is usually no issues when the henna is pure good grade.

Even though I'm ignoring the 1st tip (not on purpose I just don't want to travel 2hrs away or be on a 4 month waitlist to get my hair dyed) this video is so helpful. I just bleached my hair yesterday for the first time so I'm waiting a whole week before I dye it.

Not going to lie, I like growing out my color because I like the ombre effect. But the one piece of advice I was given after dying my hair a copper color and had damage was that I shouldn't go more than 3 levels. However, I feel like I didn't take care of my hair properly (I know my hair better now). ETA: I tried Earthtones Naturals products and my hair felt great! Then my scalp started itching and I was heartbroken because it was SOOO moisturized and I wanted to keep using it! So, now I need to know if it was the butter or some other item. But they were a great (and had no shea butter). Thank you!

I dye my hair basically to camouflage my graying hair. And I noticed that it smooths out my hair natural kink a bit. When it gets closer to that 8 week mark the curly pattern gets tighter. I do all the steps that you have highlighted in this video.

I had mine colored a deep Auburn. Now it's ombre colored. It's fading out. I'm honestly not sure what color it is..I love it though. I love the Cantu argon oil leave in conditioning cream. It softens my 4c hair so well. I can honestly say that the color haven't damaged my hair.

Quick questions: most natural hair influencers mentionned that they wash their hair every weeks. I do have a routine but wash my hair every 2 weeks. Is it bad? Nice instructive video like always 😘 @jenn jackson
@missserwaa_2 жыл бұрын
Is denying your hair of water for as long as two weeks good? I don't think it's the best. We are working with hydration here as curly heads and 5-7 at most 10 days should be fine. If you are working your hair away from dehydration, Id say do 5-7 days.

I plan to get my hair colored red in a week, but I don't plan to get touch ups of the color because, aside from liking the look of having darker roots, I know some over processing will occur at that line of demarcation, no matter how careful the colorist tries not to do that.

I just $5 boxed dyed my hair red. The color looks great. I've never had to bleach for red or copper. I can see why people say to upkeep the color. This time, I left an inch of my hair black in the front (so I can still wear headband wigs) and it does not mesh well with the dyed hair. I have to separate the two sections when using products.
