JENNY JENKINS

For this video, I made a folk toy: a wooden spoon doll. A hundred years ago, toys were often made from common household objects. A wooden spoon is easy to turn into a doll: just paint a face, add some hair, and create some clothing. Spoon dolls can be fancy or simple.
My spoon doll is named Jenny Jenkins, and I used scraps of cloth for her outfits.
Jenny Jenkins is an old folk song with lots of variations, especially in the nonsense part. It's got a tongue-twister in it, and I included the words because it's fun to learn to sing that section of the song.
