hey Jenny, I love those bobbins you have. I saw that portable pillow on your website. I been looking for a pattern for it but have had no luck. Do yo have a video on how to make the portable lace pillow or can you direct me to where I can go to make or buy one. I'm in the US so we don't have a great selection.

I am ordering my supplies next month and zi can't wait. that is such a pretty star. what size thread do you use?
@jacibledsoe6577 жыл бұрын
Jenny, what size thread should I be using. Someone told me either 20 or 30 but I just got beginning lace book and it says 5, 10, 15 at most. what types of thread should I use as well?

what do the bobbins cost for this craft?
@JennyBrandisLace9 жыл бұрын
Leah Mondloch I use East Midlands bobbins and the costs vary, but I have paid as little as $.60 AUD each (when the Aussie dollar was giving a good exchange rate) for factory made and as much as $25.00 AUD for a one of a kind.

I am working on a block pillow in this video. It is comprised of 5 blocks. The overall width and height are 18 x 18 inches (50 x 50 cm)

I hope you are still around... what is your guage here? What is the measurement of the finished star please
@JennyBrandisLace5 жыл бұрын
The grid is 1/10 inch diagonal so any thread with a wpc of between 28-40 will work with the pattern.

@@JennyBrandisLace thank you. I am beginner and i find it sometimes difficult to interpret what i am looking at. I am starting with #10 and home made bobbins (pencils) 😊
@JennyBrandisLace5 жыл бұрын
the pattern that goes with this video is too small for #10 cotton as it is 14wpc. You would need to enlarge the pattern on a photocopier to 150% to use it with the thread you have.

@@JennyBrandisLace 14 wpc?
@JennyBrandisLace5 жыл бұрын
wpc is short for Wraps Per Centimeter - a way to compare different brands and thicknesses of thread. There is a wonderful book by Brenda Paternoster called "Threads for Lace" that has approx. 1900 threads listed. For example my patterns use threads that have between 28 and 40 wpc so any thread listed in the book with a wpc in that range can be used on my patterns.
