However, for most debugging scenarios, creating a launch configuration file is beneficial because it allows you to configure and save debugging setup

@@lolme4542 if you are using windows try to compile it on the cmd line. If you still get an empty file. Reinstall the compiler. I dont know it this is your question.

In my case I don't know what is happening, somehow my mingw installation didn't install a debugger so I installed cigwyn and installed gcc,g++, gdb again. Checked the version of it in cmd too all are showing but then again my vsc and codeblocks is not running I'm getting an error some kind of library is missing why tf I"m facing these weird problems? Please suggest me what should I do? Right now I'm coding in dev c/c++ it works fine no problem at all but vsc ide is very eye soothing I wanted to switch.

Ma'am One important thing, Why IDEs like vscode, In reality, most of the companies use Linux platform where they use vim editor with ctags and cscopes to traverse through source code. It would be better for students if they get habituated to use Linux + Vim + Ctags/ Cscopes rather Windows + Any IDEs

I start learning with VI and it is not user friendly. Visual Studio Code is very common for beginners. Maybe you should move directly to Advanced. Don't forget to compile with all the options that should be included on the prompt.
