I’ve worked in “high end” brands for almost twenty years, and honestly, now there are even fewer differences as you’re paying so much more for inflation, packaging and distribution. There are only so many labs!

The OG Loreal Telescopic mascara is my holy grail. I don't bother trying any other mascaraa anymore. Same with the Believe Beauty foundation. (I also wear the shade Cashmere.) It's that good and you gotta love that it's just $5.50. Discovered both from watching your channel! ❤

I've generally had good experiences with drugstore mascara, except for the Maybelline Sky High. It smeared and flaked and was extremely difficult to remove. I wore it a few times and tossed it. I know a lot of people love it, but I sure didn't.

I love drugstore makeup but being a woman of colour I struggle. Many drugstore brands aren’t catering to us with coloured skin, and if they do it’s often really badly executed when it comes to foundations anyway. When it comes to blushes there have been improvements… When I’m able to choose drugstore with good formulas I always do. Thanks for sharing your favourites! 💕

They don’t usually cater to darker complexions or lighter complexions with an undertone leaning on the cooler side. A lot for medium tones though.

I still love my Milani blushes (all of them), but the Flower blushes are definitely amazing blushes. I agree the drugstore needs to work on their shadows though. I feel that indie brands are the ones that have really nailed the eyeshadow formulas.

I was in Dollar General the other day and I would never have even considered picking up makeup from a dollar store *except* that I had watched a previous one of your videos and I vaguely remembered you saying that Believe Beauty foundation was pretty good, so I picked it up. It’s actually REALLY good. I’ve tried lots of foundations and previously the only ones I’d buy again are from IT cosmetics, but now Believe Beauty is on that list. I actually tap a little all around my face & buff it out with a brush & it ALWAYS looks incredible. Almost no concealers look good on me! The nyx serum concealer is the other one that I adore!

Completely endorse Revlon Superlustrous. Wonderful lipsticks. Elegant, sturdy cases - never have I had one break, which I can't say about most other under $10 brands. Comparable to Estee Lauder and Lancome in quality for about a third of the price.

I'm worried about Believe Beauty. They haven't restocked at any DGs near me and I've now bought out my color of the foundation at multiple stores. I have to go further and further away from home to find it and you can't buy it online so it makes me super worried it may be getting discontinued, especially since it's my daily go-to 😩 I hope it starts getting restocked soon. Before you snub beauty products from the drugstore, remember for example that Nars, Bare Minerals, Buxom belong to Shiseido or that La Mer, Tom Ford, Mac, Smashbox, Bobbi Brown belong to Estee Lauder or that LVMH which owns Sephora, also owns Marc Jacobs, Fenty, Kat Von D. (Cite Suzana Rose, blog, 25 Jan'21) Look them up and rethink your purchase whether high end or brands that chose to be distributed by drugstores or other merchants. Have a lovely day. 😊

I am a self admitted Chanel beauty gal. However, there are some very good drugstore products out there. My pleasant surprises are: Rimmel Kind and Free foundation, all the Milani blushes, MCo brow pencil, Revlon Prismatic eyeshadows (beautiful, but sadly don't last long), Maybelline Tattoo eyeliners, Revlon lip liners, Natio brown mascara, and the Rimmel Kind and Free concealer for under my eyes.

I love all makeup, albeit drugstore, high end and anything in-between. It just depends what it is and how it performs. I love the L'oreal Lumi Glotion! I get in the darkest shade and mix it with my top layer of moisturizer for a hint of color and glow. It's as good as the Drunk Elephant. That said, I love the DE too! Great vid! 💜💜💜

I have many many of the profusion brushes and I love them and use them more often than some of my IT Brushes, however I have so many because of their longevity, they tend to come apart fairly quickly-the wholes heads come apart from the black handle. I still love them. They blend so well.

The L'Oreal Lumiglotion does have alcohol denat., aka isopropyl alcohol or SD40 alcohol. It's the fourth ingredient. This type of alcohol can be drying and irritating to the skin, so you might want to consider that before you purchase it again.

My profusion round tapered brush arrived, cannot believe it is a drugstore brush. I will use it for blush of all sorts, including liquid and cream, the bristles are on the dense side instead of fluff, suitable for liquid applications. Thank you for recommending this amazing yet quiet product. ❤❤❤

I have to agree with Jen on this. With the exception of NYX singles, I haven't been impressed with drugstore eye shadow. I've used some Ulta Collection singles and some Sephora Beauty singles that are OK but not my Holy Grail. I got what I paid for with them, but that's all.

The Essence 6 pans with the silly names are very good quality, thoughtfully arranged, and very well priced. I can count on one hand the number of palettes where I use all the colors. Taupe it Up is one of them.

Love this video! I’m a huge fan of drugstore and affordable makeup. One of my favorite foundations is the Almay clear complexion one. One of my favorite blushes is the essence pure nude blush. And for mascara I love the maybelline surreal lash extensions and the curl and bounce. Hard candy has a really affordable mini eyeshadow at Walmart- those are so good for a quick everyday look!

So appreciate your drugstore makeup reviews. Except for some foundations, drugstore makeup is just as good or better than high end. I’d love to get my hands on Believe Beauty’s foundation but there’s no store within 40 miles of my home. I just wish local drugstores and even Ulta would offer or have adequate stock of less expensive brands and/or carry their full line of products in their stores. Shopping for foundation or concealers on line is rarely successful. I also find that drugstore makeup products get discontinued more often than high end. I hate it when I fall in love with something and then can’t rebuy it..

I love Believe Beauty foundation! But I love a lot of their products! The Revlon Illuminance Foundation - I tried that over the summer when my skin is more normal to slightly dry and I hated it. I thought it was waaaay too glowy. I looked more greasy than glowy. So I didn’t use it again. But then when winter came around and my skin was extremely dry, I remembered how glowy that was and thought it just might work better for me now that my skin is so dry and got it out to try again and absolutely LOVED it. It didn’t look glowy. Just more of natural finish (not glowy, not matte, just a nice natural, healthy look to the skin) and I didn’t need to set it with powder or anything and it wore beautifully all day. It’s been the only one I was using all winter because it just worked so well with my skin being super dry. I’m sure I’ll have to stop using it when it gets warmer and my skin goes to more normal to slightly dry. But I was so happy I didn’t throw it out after first trying it! Just goes to show it really depends on what your skin is currently like. I also forgot how much I loved the Physician Formula Butter Believe It Foundation. It’s great full coverage for my dry skin right now. Just takes a SMALL amount to get full coverage and look nice on the skin (but definitely one you can use too much on and it look cakey so always need to start small with that one for sure!). I usually have the same feelings on products as you do. But the one that just doesn’t work for me is Catrice’s Concealer. It always looks so dry under my eyes. I love their other concealer (Liquid Camo Concealer). But for some reason the TruSkin one always looks so dry on me no matter how small of an amount I use. Might be the shade because I do find a lot of products that are fair enough for me will look really dry on me but a shade a little too dark will look beautiful so I’ll use a mixer to use it and have the right shade. So I might need to try a darker shade. But I have other concealers I love so that would be a hassle I don’t need 😂

Yes! I saw some other influencers say that the Revlon Illuminance was too glowy but on my dry skin it's not glowy at all! So funny how things can change depending on your skin type (or the weather!).

@@JenPhelps yeah! It is crazy! In the summer when I’m normal leaning dry it’s way too glowy for me, but winter when I’m extremely dry it’s perfect!! That’s why it’s always so helpful to know someone’s skin type (at the time they’re trying a foundation since it can change with the seasons 🤣).

I have a hard time with too much glimner or chrome shadow for eyes, unless its just a small amount just for a pop in middle of eye lightly . However you where it well. I think has to do with age, preference, and deep set a little hooded too ❤

I use many of the products you’ve highlighted today, except for Belief Beauty only because I have enough foundations I’m working through. But the Catrice concealer is fabulous I love it! I have a few high end products but I’d rather spend the big bucks on skincare than makeup. Just my preference. That lip color on you is so beautiful. It brings out the colors you’ve used, subtly.

Hi Jen , I love this video, flower beauty have a lot of great products, where I live something is going on with stocking drugstore products eg, elf wow glow ( sunscreen/primer) or L’Oréal products (infallible blushes ) Revlon seems to be consistent with releasing new products. Love Katherine xoxo

Revlon Colorstay crème eyeshadow is pretty good. Revlon has really good lipstick too.

I’m so glad I have Dollar General stores nearby. I too love the Believe line. Have you tried anything else from them? I like it all but yes, the foundation is incredible ❤

Me too. I don't dare put anything with fragrance on my face or lips. I don't enjoy itchy rashes. It sure does cut down on the skin care and makeup I can buy.

Makeup Snob Approved! Love that so much 😄. So much looks beautiful on u! Thx for the brush tip. I have a few Rephr brushes but they shed a lot IMO. I have Believe which is as good as the Estée Lauder DW but I hope they have my exact shade next time. I also love the Telescopic mascara. Super video❣️

We s/b able to laugh at ourselves, especially today. Ur whole channel is all ab ‘help’, not hurt… helpful alternatives whenever possible. Pls keep being ur beautiful self, both inside + out.
