Great video!! It’s still helpful 7 years after it was filmed! 😁 I’m about to attempt this with an EC and a Sadie’s Stickers planner. The 2023 EC has too much to white out so I’m switching the main pages and adding some note pages. I’m hoping it turns out as well as yours did!

I know this vid is like 3 years old, but it just gave me LIFE!!!! I was kind of bummed when I received my EC 18 month cause it was just bulky and not closing great already. I got up the nerve watching your video and uncoiled it, took a few months out to add back in later, and recoiled it! Yay!!! Thank you!

Another tip for the pliers, wrap the tips of the pliers with a thick tape (duct tape or that black electrical tape is great) and the coil will be unscathed ;)

Thank you so much! I was able to take apart three old planners and remove all unused notes pages to create a whole new notebook. Then use my gold spiral on my latest planner.❤

Hi jen I did it ! I didnt think I would be able to but I took my lined pages and put one sheet between each month and then 8 sheets in the back which is 16 pages. so now there is enough room for my budget, sinking funds, and whatever else ! thank u for the video.

Thank you for posting this! I have always hated how thick my 18 month planner was, so I went ahead and followed your instructions and just removed 2015 from the planner. Now I love it!

Thank you SO much for this detailed, realtime video! I want to put the smaller 2015 coil on my 2016 because I REALLY dislike the new larger coil. The clear ruler/bookmark already has a couple of bent teeth because it doesn't remove/replace as smoothly in the larger coil. I think I have the courage to switch coils now!

thank you so much for this video! I uncoiled my ppp by cutting the coil up to get it out and I put it into a carpe diem but I never trimmed and punched so it is still all ready for a coil. I now want to use my EC horizontal coil for my PPP and use my notes from my EC too! this is awesome and you made it seem so easy :)

This is a great video, Jen! How cute when you were like "I'm so excited it's real now" haha! I personally had never thought of recoiling my planners before. At the moment I only have the one but it arrived watermarked (I live in Scotland so...!) and the lovelies in Customer Services gave me a $35 credit so I ordered my 2016 horizontal weekly planner earlier today and I'm actually planning to recoil the new one already. I looove my notes pages and always want more (I'm a sucker for a notebook every time I go out shopping, recently I bought a slim shopping list pad that's magnetic so it sticks on my fridge and I just tear out each slip as I need it... it made me more excited than I care to admit LOL) and there's never enough stickers with the stuff I want on them so I'm taking my leftover stickers and adding them to the new one so I hopefully won't run out! OMG it's a brave new world out there :p Thanks for the inspiration! I need to check your older videos again, I'm pretty sure you listed a few fave sticker sellers so I'll check those out! I already uncoil my cheap ordinary notebooks after they are full since it's easier to do that than it is to rip all the paper off. I take all my empty sheets of paper for the scrap paper draw and put the rest in the paper recycler and the coil spring goes in the metal bin. I never thought about putting coils back on though.

I butchers the wire end of my coil but I managed it fine for a first attempt. Getting that coil bent back out is really important to making it easier.

Awesome video. I'm wanting to uncoil my 18 month because it's getting to be bulging with stickers and I still have a little over 11 months to fill in it. But if I take out the first 6 months to make it a 12 month like I want what do I do with the pages from the first 6 months? This is the first EC I've ever owned so I can't just put them into another planner and I assume they don't sell just the coils. I would want to keep the pages for memory sake but don't want them to get lost or damaged, or you know?

What a great idea it would be to actually take all the monthly at-a-glance pages (maybe more than one year's worth depending on how thick it is) and coil them together to make one big super-planner to look back on in the future at all the cool things you did... or even just the normal family stuff :)

+elizabeth medero A few reasons! I love the structure of the times (and they fit with my life), and when I don't need times, I just cover them up. I like the lines. I like that there's more room (just a smidge wider in each day column and no color blocks breaking up the day). Feels like I can be a little more free within the day!

How on earth did you do yours without partially destroying it? My husband has tried and he can't. He ended up tiying string just to preven it from destroying the planner that I just got . So now I have to try to put that coil back on without destroying more than five sheets. You have a gift to that, I wish I had it!

Hi Jen I know this video is pretty old but I am going to attempt to take out the lined paper out of my deluxe monthly and combine it with my hourly I don’t like having two different notebooks one for budget and one for everything else it just doesn’t make sense to me I’d rather just combine them and use the pages in the back for different things that I would need any how you made it look so easy I’m going to attempt to do this today and I will let you know how I did. It’s too bad that she doesn’t add more lined paper in the hourly like after the month or even in the back I’d say 12 extra pages would be good

This is too much work for me. I’m lazy, so I see no need to do this unless I desperately want to change everything in my planner. I think the problem would be recoiling! That’s why you should carefully choose what you want in the first place to avoid this altogether!
