My Late 2009 iMac 21.5 inch upgraded with SSD & max RAM is now smoothly running 🙂🙂 Did not want to push to Sequoia just yet. Will attempt do install dual boot to WINDOWS10 soon using your other vid. The iPhones that can run 17 are supported for 18, and the Macs that can run 14 (Sonoma) are supported for 15 (Sequoia), except for the 2 MacBook Airs you mentioned. watchOS, however, has dropped support for the Apple Watch Series 4.

I have the same 2014 late mac mini. after prepare the installer disc, I am planing to upgrade my hdd to ssd. is there any difference to do ?( I belive the part that 8:23 reboting I dont have to do that. ) I think after I upgrate the ssd it will automaticly starting to install. have any idea?

@@2fastsedat607 at that point, just shut down your machine and swap the SSD in the machine. If it is empty, the Mac will automatically boot from the prepared installer on the USB drive.

Yes , restart n press shift while starting pc , will install the missing files , will take some time to start n working fine

Hi. Just to understand... I tried many times to do a clean install on my mid 2012 13" Macbook Pro (i7 2.9, 16 GB RAM and 512 SSD). All proceeds smoothly until I choose the disk for the installation. It seems to be stuck. The third time I let it working for almost 6 hours without knowing if it was working or not. No spinning wheel or progress bar. When I decided to stop, I had to recovery from backup because a message of missing disk appeared. I redownloaded everything, I recreated the Mac Installer without any problem. Now it's stuck again. Any idea? Looking forward to hear back from you (and sorry for my english if it's not clear...). Thanks!

If all goes well, upgrading should not touch your files and everything should still be there. Nevertheless, especially when doing this on unsupported hardware, it's always a good idea to have a proper backup.

Unfortunately I don't have an eGPU to test but my guess would be that it would work. As far as I can see, there hasn't been much change in that area. To be sure you could try a (temporary) dual boot and give back the space to your current install if it wouldn't work. Curious though how happy you are with the eGPU solution, would love to give such a setup a try but haven't come across any interesting deals so far.

@@jensdbe do love the egpu as it makes my video editing on both Davinci Resolve Studio (latest) and FCPX (not the latest though) so much faster. All other tasks from online browsing to watching 4k videos are handled no problems too. Will give your idea a go and see if it works well, otherwise I'll just stick with Monterey for a couple more years as it hasn't given me any bother. Thanks! 🤗

As far as I can see in the OCLP release notes it has to do with the following: "Unfortunately due to T2 related problems, the recently dropped MacBookAir8,x models cannot be supported at this time."

If you are already booting with OpenCore you should be able to upgrade directly I believe. Been a long time since I tried that so definitely make a proper backup before :)

Sequoia 15.1 runs on my MacBook Pro Mid 2009 a bit slowly but it works. Problem is - the Music application keeps crashing :-( Can't you find any solution for this? It would be great to give to the old mac a little more life :-)

So now i back to catalina and upgrade os again to sonoma. Any idea macbook pro retina mid 2012 to sequoia..?
