The more I look at this dude, the more I’m convinced they need to cast him as Arthur Morgan if they do a Red Dead adaptation

Yes please! I always thought RDR would make of a great show, kinda like peaky blinders since the settings is kinda similar, it would be great because the games are great but there are people don’t like games so an adaptation would be fun and bring new fans like “the last of us” adaptation.

The old man driving down the wrong side of the road story makes me sad. Possibly suffering from dementia. Hope everyone was ok.

I live in Albuquerque and there was no news coverage of this incident so I think it’s safe to assume that no one was hurt.

Wow. The oncoming driver story is insane and terrifying. The foreign affairs/visa story is totally relatable… my colleague’s son had to get his (Canadian) passport renewed and it took over a month. Everything is SO slow, the demand for travel spiked before anyone was ready (even though it is an entirely predictable thing). PS - on the plus side: Jensen was in Vancouver again?! ❤️ I wonder how that felt. He’s got to have some feelings for the place after living there part time for 15 years.

Glad you didn't go Dean on him! He was lucky. Not fun being hit by a car. Never been hit in a car, I was hit by a car walking a crosswalk and she almost tore off my left arm. She ignored the stop sign. It hurt like heck! She was a nurse and she called for an ambulance. My rotator cuff hasn't been the same in 4 years. Jensen was lucky he didn't get hit. I wasn't lucky. Pay attention drivers!

I got hit by a car, the nurse was the driver on her way to work, a few minutes later an ambulance was on it's to the same hospital with a heart patient, so I got a lift with them. I thankfully only had a fractured elbow. It was ironic.

@@sonjavandam1306 it is ironic that a nurse hit you too. Hope you've recovered fully. I can use my arm but it's weak. The second chiropractor got my arm to move again. The nurse who hit me never asked how I was. Her insurance, or should I say her husband's car insurance people told her not to see how I was or talk to me. She almost tore my arm off and was too good to see how I was. Big deal she called for an ambulance. Thanks to her my arm will never be the same along with my rotator cuff.

@@lisanidog8178 I was so freaked I said I was to blame but it was me in a new City Perth, I skipped the crossing & didn't see there were 4 lane's. Traffic thank god was slowing down for the lights. I went to rehab & got it back to normal. That was 40 yrs ago and I will never forget the shock. The nurse was only concerned about her upcoming wedding. I hope you can heal and be happy. Ironic for sure.👀

As a former 911 dispatcher here in the U.S. who handled lots of calls about people driving the wrong way on high-speed freeways (happens more often than you might think, but it's usually late at night), what happens is this: it's a highest priority level, lights and sirens, everyone get the hell out the way call because it has a high possibility of causing a head-on collision, which at high speeds is usually fatal. So the police will pursue them (the police usually drive in the emergency lane until they catch up) and do their best to get them to stop voluntarily. If they're drunk, high or belligerent, or the vehicle is unable to stop (it happens, usually in older cars or a transmission fault in newer cars, but it's rare to see this happen with a vehicle going the wrong way) they'll do either of two things, depending on many factors like road conditions and how many police respond: 1)what's called a pit maneuver, where they tap the rear quarter of the vehicle to get it to spin out of control (very dangerous, especially at high speeds; the vehicle - especially if it's an SUV - can roll and kill the driver), or 2)a cage maneuver, where there's a police vehicle in front, behind, and on either side of the target vehicle, and they'll cause a controlled rear-end collision (where the pursued vehicle rear-ends the police vehicle in front of it) to bring the pursued vehicle to a controlled stop. Usually there's also other police vehicles ahead of the pursued vehicle to clear the roadway and minimize risk of harm to others.

Thank you for your work in that field. I am sure dispatchers get training, but it must take a special personal unflappability/strength to be the access point to help.

@@fromhgwaii It's not a job everyone can handle; you deal with the worst humanity can do to each other. But you also get to witness the best of humanity, like talking a 16 year old through delivering the baby of a woman trapped under a fallen tree limb (with minor injuries) while the outer bands of a cat 3 hurricane are going through the city (which is what brought the tree limb down).

Whatever they did worked because the incident never made the news. I live in Albuquerque and had there been a wreck the story would’ve been all over the place.
@Matchgirl42
@Matchgirl42 2 жыл бұрын
@@kristinleve6013 Yeah, if the cops do their job correctly and well in cases like this, you'll never hear about it in the news. Sadly, that's not the case a lot of times, with police misconduct/brutality and such. If they had done a pit maneuver, you'd have definitely heard about it. Might have heard about it with a cage maneuver, depending on how slow the news was that day. Hopefully what happened is the old guy saw the cops coming up behind him and peacefully pulled over.

Had that happen to me driving at 2am from Mexico into Brownsville,TX. When I was 21. I had my Audi packed with friends. It was scary!!! Then FWD to when I was 30yrs. old, I had just finished the night shift & was carpooling with coworkers going home. An old man on the opposite side of the freeway was going the wrong way. Ended up crashing into three vehicles. He had formed blood clots in his throat from bleeding out. We along with the paramedics & physician (He was also traveling home), tried everything. He ultimately expired, it must have been excruciating for him. We looked for I.D. and found an old picture of what was his late wife. Everyone else involved in the accident were thankfully ok.

Outside of my work, I've seen a couple cars go down the one way streets the wrong way, thankfully its like 25 mph. It's a common thing despite how many signs are up. People just get turned around. But one scary situation, I had the same reaction he had going "whaaat" I was going down a two lane highway southbound when i saw a truck in my land coming right at me (aka going northbound). He was trying to pass a car in the northbound lane which it's a typical thing to do on rural roads. But he wasn't slowing down and taking forever to pass and the distance was closing. I ended up pulling onto the dirt shoulder and coming to a complete stop and stayed out of his way for there was no other place to go. That truck just zoomed by me in my lane way over the speed limit and then finally went back into the northbound lane. When it was all clear I just hopped back onto the southbound side and kept going and the other car he was trying to pass just kept moving too. But yeah for a second your mind goes blank like what to do. Thankfully I remembered to stay calm.

I was the driver in the oncoming lane once. My first trip to Toronto years ago. It was the end of November and super rainy (no snow yet). I had rented a car from Union station (bad idea, i should have taken the subway to the edge of town), drove west out of the GTA to another city and returned late at night on the 401. The 401 freeway is 8 lanes each direction at some points and it was terrifying to navigate in the dark rain for the first time. I took an exit that did interesting things, and i thought road was two-lanes wide, same direction.. but it actually bidirectional. I discovered that last part when i saw the headlights of another car driving towards me in my lane on a tight curve on a ramp. Crisis averted, but even today I prefer to use the train or bus to leave TO when visiting.
