Jessica Morgante Yep, they've been changed loads of times. the song itself is an adaptation of the poem "The Braes o' Balquhidder" By the Scottish poet Robert Tannahill, who wrote it in the turn of the 18th century. It's a beautiful poem with a lot of interesting history behind it but I think the song has grown and a lot of people have made it their own and I've yet to hear a bad version!
