Played this so much as a kid, loved the 8 bit rendition of the 80s Jeopardy! main theme as well as the cues when getting a clue right or wrong. Wish I had remembered to bring my copy with me when I appeared on the show 10 years ago for Alex to autograph.

1:18, “Today, one of these three contestants will win... The Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions! Now entering the studio for the deciding game are our three finalists: a concert promoter from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Beryl Slater, who won $9,700 in the first game of our final, a talent show judge from Westville, Oklahoma, Diane Graham, who won $12,850, and a video game collector and historian from Chicago, Illinois, Alex Florentine, who won $22,900. And now, here is the host of Jeopardy, Alex Trebek!”-Johnny Gilbert. “Thank you, Johnny Gilbert. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen. Hello to you and welcome to the crown jewel of Jeopardy: the 10th and final day of our Tournament of Champions. We started this tournament 11 days ago with 15 champions from last season, and now, 12 champions later, we are now down to these three finalists, and the totals that you see right now from yesterday’s game, they will now disappear from their scoreboards because it is theirs to keep no matter what. At the end of this half-hour, only the leader who’s ahead will be the champion and will win $100,000, second place will be guaranteed $10,000 and third place will be guaranteed $7,500. Players, you played superbly throughout this tournament, and I wish you the very best of luck. Good luck to all three of you and let’s get this final game underway with the Jeopardy round.”-Alex Trebek.

We'll miss you Trebek. Now for something completely different. Too bad this version didn't have a some sort of voice synthesis. I'd find it hilarious to hear a cheap Trebek or Don Pardo in all their crunchy 80's 8-bit audio glory

Unfortunately this was when Gametek was still a very young company and only had a shoestring budget to work with. You'll notice in the 80's Gametek jeopardy! games, they never had the actual hosts. They did have voice synthesis on 1990's Super Jeopardy (The only jeopardy game you can play with 4 contestants at once) but it had a generic host, and his voice samples were very scratchy and poor. The first celebrity they had was Vanna White in 1991 for the last NES WOF! game (the voice sample was actually not bad) Alex Trebek in 1992, but they never had Pat Sajak. He didn't have his likeness used until 2009 when THQ had the rights to make WOF & J! games.

24:52, “What a superb tournament we have had so far, but the game is not over just yet. Which one of these three finalists will win $100,000? We’ll find out in just a few moments. In a moment, players, the clue, then 30 seconds to write down your response. Make sure it is in that form. Here comes the Final Jeopardy answer: ‘He made famous solo journey from Roosevelt Field to Le Bourget in 1927.’ 30 seconds, good luck.”-Alex Trebek.

25:54, “Time’s up and we’ll go first to our third place player Diane, who had $1700 going into this final round. What is her response? ‘Who is Charles Lindbergh?” Yes, you’re right. How much did you wager? $880, and that takes you to $2580 and when we add the $9700 from yesterday, that’ll give you a two-day total of $12,280. Now we go over to Beryl, who had $2400, and did she come up with ‘Who is Charles Lindbergh?’ She did! How much did she wager? $1200 bringing her total to $3600 and adding the $12,800 from yesterday, bringing her two-day total to $16,400. Alex, you’re gonna run away with this one. Did you write down ‘Who is Charles Lindbergh?’ Yes! You did! And how much did you bet? Only $12! That takes you to $20,612 and when we add the $22,500 from yesterday, that brings your two-day total to $43,112, and that means that YOU ARE OUR JEOPARDY $100,000 CHAMPION!!!!!!!!!!”-Alex Trebek. (Audience cheers loudly) “I’m so proud of you! Let’s bring out all the other champions to congratulate Alex on his dominant victory! What a celebration for our video game collector/historian from the Windy City! Congratulations to Alex Florentine, our brand new $100,000 champion! Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for tuning us in. I hope you have enjoyed our two-week tournament. We’re going back to our regular games on Monday! Join us then! So long!”-Alex Trebek. “Today’s second and third place contestants will receive... (insert fee plugs and long closing credits). This is Johnny Gilbert speaking. Jeopardy is a production of Merv Griffin Enterprises and is distributed by King World.”-Johnny Gilbert. “Tomorrow on Hee Haw, join Roy Clark and the gang, along with guest co-hosts Alabama for an hour of pickin’ and grinnin’ and singin’ and laughin’ and prancin’! That’s Hee Haw, tomorrow night at 7:00 on WKYT-TV Channel 27!”-Karl Shannon.
