The nationwide search for the next superstar kicked off in August as the Idol Bus traveled covering 23 cities across the country. Auditioning was made easier than ever as hopefuls also had the opportunity to submit audition videos online as well as via select social media platforms using an official tag The Next Idol cultivating over 300,000 posts. Also for the first time in “American Idol” history hopefuls had the opportunity to audition through a livestream platform.
Helping to determine who America will ultimately vote for to become the next singing sensation are music industry forces and superstar judges Luke Bryan Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Host and producer Ryan Seacrest will return as host of the beloved series.

First off, the whole intro was about the fact that he is a ministers son and works out of a church as a gay man and is a janitor. American Idol made a point of his homosexuality and are promoting it the best way they can, you help with the gay agenda. Secondly if you don't understand why he might not be welcome in heaven as the lyrics suggest and say he never mentions his homosexuality in the song, then you just have comprehension issues and missed the point to the entire song. Thirdly....Just because I can comprehend and actually point put key elements of the song, doesn't make me homophobic. Just because I am not comfortable about the vision of 2 guys going at it with his wording within the song, doesn't mean you have the right to demand that I should. I found nothing graphic about it at all. No sexual words are in it. No foul language whatsoever. Lovers (people who love each other) laying side by side (laying next to each other). Nothing graphic there! Lifting higher into heaven and God making room for them. Nothing graphic at all. Reaching refers to worshipers in church that are often seen with their arms reaching up. Forever refers to that final reach because you died. My opinion is it's totally appropriate for children.
