Actually, *pushes glasses up* the Back to the Future trilogy was directed by Robert Zimeckis (who later went on to direct Forest Gump), not Steven Spielberg

Spielberg produced BTTF though.

This is such an odd car for me. I love it and I hate it. It’s slow, it’s covered in plastic, it’s somehow sharp and dull at the same time. But there’s some mystical aspect about it. There’s a story to be told with a Delorean.

I think the design is great especially for its time period but everything else is crap since it was rushed in the development process but in order to be a star in the movie the looks is all you need. Love it or hate it, definitely has a strong personality strictly because of its history.

@@KUZY87 no matter which way you slice it, it’s a weird car for sure. I wouldn’t mind owning one.

As a Delorean owner i can tell you that it's not THAT slow when you consider it's a car from the 80's. The bad image is mainly caused by the expectations that were given during it's presentations prior to production. It was told that the delorean could compete with different 80's sports cars, but it turned out to be a bit slower. You can get more performance out of a delorean with ease, like the stage 1 kit and better exhaust system which brings easily +20hp or the stage 2 kit which puts the engine to about 200hp. Not even the automatic gearbox is that bad, because you can get an improved "shifting computer" nowadays. Of course the D can't still compete with modern sportier cars, but it isn't really that bad at all and handles quite good ;) Anyway it should be considered more as an "Gran Turismo" than a real sports car.

People always get confused about a new Delorean. If all that's left is the part that contains the VIN and title of an original Delorean they can make a new car with the parts they have. But it has to be built back to the way it left the factory with very few exceptions! So technically no new 2021 cars!
