@@Mikey_Moonshine i actually didn’t know about that before, until one time i got this scratchy throat, i looked and there, found some white thing, i thought its soft, but it’s kinda hard. Taking it out was a struggle since some are deep in the tonsil folds or skin. And the smell was terrible.it’s just so satisfying to remove though.

That probably felt soooo good to get out! I hate tonsil stones and I can never get them out unless I cough really hard. I've tried pushing with Q-Tips and everything without success. I can't imagine how that tonsil stone was stuck his tonsils considering how large it was (It was about the size of tonsils). Yes they are gross and smell atrocious 🤢 But when you do get them out, it is so cleansing and satisfying! Especially considering all that bacteria and gunk that causes bad breath yucky! It's so disgusting yet so intriguing and satisfying at the same time (I guess I'm very weird and disgusting to find something like that intriguing) I mean there have been times where I have coughed one up and had to stare at it and evaluate it for 5 minutes. 😂😂

You can still get tonsil stone with our tonsil. Tonsil stones are usually made from people eating too much processed food, bread, and sticky type food. Gargle with anti septic mouth wash, regular teeth brushing and going to the dentist regularly.

Tonsil stones can be removed by cleaning your tonsils with a syringe after each meal, as well as using a tongue scraper. Alternatively, tonsillectomy may be an option.

As a 50+ yr old American, I and most kids I knew had their tonsils and adenoids removed by the age of 10. It was sort of routine in the 70s, although I suffered terrible strep throat and ear infections as a child. I had never heard of this until the Internet. None of us really had tonsils. It was also a time when antibiotics were routinely pumped into children for just about any sniffle.

58 here. Before my time and during, as a child, many tonsillectomies were unnecessary, according to modern studies. As many as 2/3 of them may have been not needed. It was just a gravy train operation for the doctors to make money, to pay country club dues, and Porsche payments! I still have my tonsils, and also had strep throat a lot as a kid, but my doctor was old school, and thought it was better for a person to retain their tonsils. I think he was right.

I'm 53 and still have my tonsils. Never have had strep throat in my life. Coincidentally, I very, very rarely get sick. I haven't had a cold since 2012. I think the tonsils serve the immune system in some capacity. I personally believe the tonsils "sample" the air we breathe, finding particular germs and viruses, then the body develops antibodies to protect from those germs.

I had those so bad when I was younger. I had suffered with cronic tonsillitis from a young age and it had created pockets in the back of my throat in the tonsils. One time I gagged and one came loose. It was about the size if a nickel. Sooo gross & the smell is like feces......nasty. thank goodness as Ive aged the pokets have closed up. This is why its very important to gargel nightly with warm salt water.

I have an issue with tonsil stones and they smell horrendous. They're a pain in the ass and the doctor said they can cause bad breath and possibly infections if not taken care of properly. I've tried to get my tonsils removed cuz of it and they will not do so. If anyone has a solution, please inform me.
