In the old days in the pre internet era, I carried American Express Travellers Cheques when I travelled abroad. These were purchased from AMEX and the cost of purchase changed as the exchange rate of my local currency, $USD / $AUD changed daily. By definition AMEX Cheques were in today's parlance "Stable" because their value was pegged to the $USD. American Express Travellers Cheques were popular for decades and were never considered to be a security and so I fail to see therefore, how a stable coin could be treated differently.

I embarked onto watching the whole hearing, and it's really interesting to see how these people exchange on the matter... and, by watching the non-verbal communication from G.Gensler's speech, I may say that he's being suffering under a pressure than anybody else ever experienced here... he was thrown into this battle by the previous chairman, and behind the scene things may be more complicated than we think : there could be personal implications on GG's collegues and relations that he may not be able to get through this mess unharmed...
