Carreras was kind of disapointing :/ It is a pretty tough song cause of the vowels, but if you're looking for a more classical sound I would've picked several others classical singers, probably one amongst the ones that sing Rossini.

Gotta say, this is one of the songs from West Side Story that I was always like "eh...it's pretty but...it's boring." But he manages to find a new way to say Maria each time. You can see him discovering something new about the name every time he sings it. He's not just singing a sappy love song here - he's finding the JOY in it. He's doing what every actor should, which is find the journey in the song. God bless.

I have never heard a version of this song where I've truly believed Maria is the most beautiful sound they've ever heard. Jeremy Jordan is impeccable technically and it's an incredible version for that reason but for me, what makes this the best, is that I believe him. That line wasn't just one line, it was his entire reason for singing in the first place. There always needs to be a reason to change to singing in a musical, and we know and believe his reason.

Jeremy Jordan is one of my all time favorite Broadway actors right now. He always performs the roles he’s given with such sincerity and respect, whether he’s performing during a Broadway show or for a concert. Whenever I see or hear him perform, I love how he doesn’t just sing the songs, but acts them as well, and you could hear the emotions he’s conveying through his voice alone even if you can’t see him physically acting it.
