Gotta say, this is one of the songs from West Side Story that I was always like "eh...it's pretty but...it's boring." But he manages to find a new way to say Maria each time. You can see him discovering something new about the name every time he sings it. He's not just singing a sappy love song here - he's finding the JOY in it. I have never heard a version of this song where I've truly believed Maria is the most beautiful sound they've ever heard. Jeremy Jordan is impeccable technically and it's an incredible version for that reason but for me, what makes this the best, is that I believe him. That line wasn't just one line, it was his entire reason for singing in the first place. There always needs to be a reason to change to singing in a musical, and we know and believe his reason.
