I hadn't intended to watch the whole thing, but once I got started there was no way I could pull the plug on such a finely crafted, free flowing improvisation. WAY too much for me to take in at once, but I heard a few passages that made me think "I could do a dumbed-down version of that"! What a joy to listen and learn from Jeremy "G Train" Siskind!

Loved this! Loving your book too! Just started Unit 2 last night. The way you are taking us students through drone improvisations, swing rhythm and listening sessions is really unique and helpful. I look forward to working on it a little each day. Thank you G-Train!

Nice! I'm glad you're on unit 2. I'm watching the page counts on my website for the different units (I hope you're using the QR codes!) and not too many folks are on unit 2 quite yet. (PS If i haven't told you already, you can go through the book with me in a class setting starting January 24th. More info at www.jeremysiskind.com/jazzclass/)

i have watched this as well as a ton of other vids on your channel this week, and there is so much incredible stuff on here- the amount of information and insights you provide can be really helpful in evolving my playing and getting a deeper understanding of this music. this inspired me to get up have fun and play myself and i realized i have learned enough to where i can sit and mix things up and the result wont be too bad😂i know im a stranger but i used to play saxophone but always loved hearing the piano, and a masterclass of yours gave some basic information in a way that gave me starting point to be able to finally give it a go and try it out. here i am four/five(?) years later and id hope ive learned some more about jazz piano since then haha. this was a great listen, gtrain!

Masterful, Jeremy. That ragtime part in the end was awesome.
@JeremySiskind2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, Pau! I'm not criticizing, but just for your info, I'm told that historically, we use the word "ragtime" when it's fully written out, and the word "stride" if it's improvised. So I'd call that stride style.
