I really want to see Lance have a bit of a character arc. I mean, we are so used to seeing him bring the light to the situation or be the comic relief, but when his teammates aren't around we sometimes see his more vulnerable sides and his insecurities show. This tells me he has more depth than we initially see, and as a character he has a TON of potential. I'd like to see a small arc (maybe like the whole Galra Keith thing) where he's in more serious situation and his true colors start to show more. I know lots of people say this, but I really think he's the most underdeveloped character so far. Even Hunk had more than him. So I think it would be really interesting to see him just do things completely out of character, or have some serious moments and get in some sort of struggle. It's not something we've seen from him yet, usually he's helping deal with other characters problems, but I want to see him have his own problem and get more personal. Sorry for sort of ranting lol

Honestly, I couldn't ship Klance harder. They're my primary OTP. But, I just can't help but think, it's not going to be canon. It's disappointing, because they're adorable, however, I'm not going to keep my hopes up. Their rivalry relationship has potential for them to actually be a compatible couple. I mean, you never know, and netflix loves gays (haha) I do have my reasons to believe that something might happen. But it's unlikely. 1. Same studio as Avatar and Korra. There were some relationships existing in those shows. Romance was fairly common. However, the way this show leans is more towards the 'boy's action show'. Although, I'm starting to see a more mixed audience, this show isn't all about guns and lasers. There are some emotions going through the show. Dreamworks doesn't really do that kinda thing with the action being the root of the show kinda thing hehe. 2. Sometimes fandoms can rub off on the producers. I mean, Klance went off like a bullet as soon as the show came out. This is important to remember. All in all, the show is phenomenal, the fanart and fanfics can sustain me lol. But, I won't cast out canon completely, you never know.

I've noticed theres a lot of hate going around in the comments section, especially about Lances' sexuality. I personally ship Klance, and I love it, but I don't appreciate those who are defending it with their lives. Ship bashing/shaming is a terrible thing yes, but you have to remember Klance is not canon. As much as I, and others, would like it to be, its not. And you need to respect that some either don't enjoy said ship or just don't like the fact that you're freaking out over it when it isn't even canon. This does not make it okay to bash the ship though. You have to understand that some people like the ship. A lot. I don't mean to get personal, but the ship and show itself makes me incredibly happy. That doesn't happen often. And others could be like this as well, so them defending the ship could be them not wanting their happiness 'taken away.' Anyways, my point is It would be nice if you all stopped the hate on Klance and Lance being bi. I get it if you're bothered by it due to it not being canon, but homophobic comments are not going to be welcomed. If Lance does come out as bi in the show, that would be fantastic for the LGBT+ community, but could receive hate to those whom are uncomfortable with sexualities other than straight. I personally believe he is indeed bi, with Keith being either gay or pan, but I wont claim it being canon when its not. Yet. I don't believe Klance will happen, but the idea of it is great to me. And remember than bi lance is just a head canon. Don't push people about it to make them uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, I don't have the source to link it, but I'm sure if you search up something about, blogspot why klance will become canon and you can fight me on this, it should be somewhere around there. I'm a huge klance shipper, but of course I respect other people's ships and never usually comment and get into ship wars, but this article is filled with a lot of evidence and implications that you might not have caught on to. Why did so many people think Klance was going to be a thing? I've just recently watched Voltron and honestly I'm disappointed with the lack of Klance. I only shipped them because before watching Voltron I've seen so many fanart of them as well in AU and such and thought they were cute. But the actual show itself has nothing romantic between the 2. I thought they were like Adora and Catra or something or actually had romantic development. But they are literally just friends so.... again how are they so popular when there's nothing there? This show is fabulous, but the fandom is mentally unstable. The actor states, "Lance is a lady's man. He will hit on anything that is *female*." People can prefer him to be whatever they want, but he is straight. I'm just wasting my breath here, but its just sad how people take what they prefer in their own mind(thinking Lance would be great if he was bi and shipped with Keith) but the problem is projecting it with such intense, bloodthirsty vigor as if it was actually canon is just stupid. The way the interviewer flat out stated that Lance likes girls made me kind of uncomfy... I get that there has been no mention of Lances sexuality being other than straight in the show, but it felt like he was kind of making sure Jeremy would say the same? Like it wasn't a question it was a statement, sounded kinda like all the people in the comments who are dissing Klance... might not have meant it that way but it was like "pls tell all these crazy people that Lance definitely likes girls"... idk... not to mention I feel like Lance is so much more than just his sexuality and the fact that that's the first thing people say to him just makes me sad, y'all only see him for being a flirt :(

It was a statement because Jeremy had already stated in a table interview prior to this interview that "Lance likes the girls." This was a characteristic of Lance that Jeremy had told the press.

No worries. When shows are first introduced - and these interviews were 2 months before the show debuted on Netflix - they don't tell you a whole lot about the characters, so when you get something that they are telling you is true about their character, you want to report it and have the actor corroborate the statement.
