The nba has a lot of scoring wings so players like Scotty Barnes and possibly sochan can be the best to guard quick tall scorers. Definitely a valuable piece to any team. Draymond-esque but taller and gives me Rodman vibes. Hope nyk lands him at 11.

If they can groom Kawhi in a Superstar, this guy certainly has a chance. If he can become a good shooter and ball handler, he can be special! He has great size and instincts. The key ingredient will be his work ethic! The Spurs staff is grade A!! If he’s will to put the work in, they can definitely guide him to greatness!

You can lead a horse to water but you can't force it to drink. The Spurs didn't groom Kawhi, Kawhi wanted to be great and worked his butt off. The Spurs have the right coaches/staff and development program but ultimately it's on the player and how great they want to be. Kawhi had a mix of physical gifts (really long arms, gigantic hands, speed, strength) and a crazy work ethic and the Spurs nurtured that and helped guide.

Imagine Pels get him and use him as a small ball 5: CJ/Herb/BI/Z/Sochan. Everyone's role is clearly defined, you can switch everything defensively, etc.

@@smoothhoops3739 Definitely will help off of both of them, but Herb turned into a competent shooter in his rookie year (.34 from three, .84 from the line), and Sochan was still a passable C&S three point shooter (.36), though he probably won't be taking any off the dribble. With Fred Vinson having a long history of shot doctoring, it's not unreasonable for both guys to become viable C&S threats. And if that happens...

He reminds me of Franz Wagner without the on ball offensive versatility. All around a good player in almost everything and great team, and iso, defense. Not a star but will be a winner if drafted by the right team.

He is a playoff caliber player who would already contribute to a playoff team in his rookie season. Any team should be thrilled to get him in the lottery. I see him fitting extremely well with OKC at 12 for their future. He is the prototypical situational small ball 5 that is so important in today's nba. He's a winning player.

I feel like what makes him a weaker shot blocker is size and standing jump. In the clips you showed he was pretty slow off the bounce or got bumped off. Hes so young that it shouldn't be too big of an issue tho

He shot around 35% on 3s in college, which isn't terrible. But his FT% was in the 50s... yikes! It doesn't project well for 3pt shooting in the NBA. It would be hard to justify him starting at any position without a reliable outside jumper. He doesn't need to be elite, but like mid-30s is a must. Otherwise he is like a bigger version of Dort or JaeSan Tate. They are useful.. but only when surrounded by 4 other good shooters.
