i genuinely think this song is about a past lover of his diagnosed with terminal illness, as he sings "your life rearranged" , "it's not cancer" and "I'm just so happy you're living". The lyrics insinuate that the person he sings about is dying. And how he still finds her beautiful. It's a masterpiece

this is just my opinion b/c that line is my fave on the album and I've been listening to the song all morning :) But i think it more so has to do with the fact that she chose to go, she chose to leave the relationship because the song is essentially him reminiscing over everything and asking her to remember that they could have had it all. Both are sad it's over and both wish the relationship ended because of something they couldn't control, like cancer, because when you're in that situation, it's more painful for someone to choose to end things on their own rather than life or nature force the ending.

He is just...the best! I listen to different songs of his and I relate, and I'm being very honest when I say this, I haven't found anybody like him :) He is so chill and humble, and from what the world is today, not like the others. Rather than making it feel like a musician and a listener, I feel like he is a friend, through his lyrics, voice and nature. He is just the absolute best! If I ever meet him irl, I'm gonna give him a big hug (he seems to be a guy who gives a very comforting hug). I just love him and everything he is doing.
