My thinking was that this was a literal "Christmas" tree and Mrs. Claus did not make the same connection. Christmas trees also have a longer history and predate the popular notion of Mrs. Claus by centuries. There are many sources citing that Christmas trees were part of festivities in the 16th century, but modern popularity was spurred by Queen Victoria of the UK in 1840 when Prince Albert introduced the tradition from Germany. The wife of Santa Claus is first mentioned in the short story "A Christmas Legend" (1849), by James Rees, a Philadelphia-based Christian missionary. By either account, the Christmas Tree seems to be the longest established of the two festive traditions, but notwithstanding, Mrs. H was equally upset by my snubbing of Mrs. Claus for the festive bonus point and suggested I make it right on Christmas Eve to get back on the nice list.

@@jeremyherbertofficial I feel honoured to have received the official response! I do understand your reasoning a lot more now! However, considering the contents of each calendar are not only judged for their meaning but also the value they provide as LEGO gifts, I think a quite unique (exclusive) minifigure with some great printing beats a quite bare bones "Christmas" tree that barely features any decoration to turn it from a regular tree into said "Christmas" tree. @@jeremyherbertofficial This is not about which gift is older, it's about which one is better. Second best today would be the Star Wars Christmas sweater and still not the boring not so well made whatever tree. I bet if ever Harry Potter would have such great gifts (which he NEVER has), the tree will be nothing for you with all that history you wrote above. But because it's Star Wars and City you turn a blind eye on them. On Christmas Eve you usually mock Santa Claus from City for being too repetitive (you give him second to last place or even worse), just like today's tree was. I'm telling you Jeremy it's like you're kinda of a woke progressive who doesn't respect Christmas Holidays enough, and I don't mean by only today's choice but many more in the past.

At least there are stockings Spidey. Hogwarts express looks like it is on the baseplate for a tree. Kind of cute but not rising to the level of yesterday's gift from Potter. The baking table is nice. The Maniacal Munchkins can hide weapons in the pies and cakes they create! The Disney tree reminds me of one from a past Potter calendar. Wait, what?! Another singing minifigure? At least that is what I thought at first. Definitely Mrs Claus, way to go City! Really nice Luke! I'm loving his jumper! I would have given Luke the festive point but I get it Mrs Claus. Going to be a tough choice for minifigure of the year this year! Some cracking entries this year! 6 points - Star Wars. Superb figure, fun take on a popular character whilst still retaining the Star Wars theming. 5 points - City. So many days this would have won on, just unfortunate that Mrs. Claus met her match today! 4 points - Friends. Really nice little scene, loads of different items depicted in one small gift. 3 points - Disney. I really like how the bottom half of the tree is done, so much better than HP's attempt a while back. No colourful lights or tinsel, though. 2 points - Marvel. As a fireplace goes, it's not the worst. No idea how it fits in to the rest of the calendar, though! 1 point - Harry Potter. If we're laying into City's efforts at microsale toys, then Harry Potter has to get the same treatment. Except this is much worse than most of City's! Festive Bonus Point - City. Some stiff competition today, but I don't think Santa would be happy if I said his wife wasn't festive! Scores - City 74, Disney 65, Harry Potter 63, Star Wars 61, Friends 56, Marvel 55. City running away with it again after off days from Harry Potter and Disney, and Star Wars closing right back up to the podium places. But will they be able to close that gap up again with one of City's main minifigures now out of the way?

Remember advent calendars are about more than a fig or two, when i was young it was a pic behind a door or some such festive thing. Also to not give Mrs Claus 6 + 1 yesterday was a travesty. All exclusive bar head, beaten by a SW jumper.. Also hope you'll show the same love for other X-Mas trees in the remaining calendars.
