Lindsey and Stevie's vocals sound beautiful together on this version. ♥

This is hands down the best version of this song because it's a BuckinghamNicks version which will always be the best!

I really like this version 👌🏼 a little more relaxed...not as highly polished as the released song. Thank you 🙏🏼

Love this! I think it sounds more FM than the version eventually released.

Absolutely. It really blows my mind that they would change it completely (going back to the original sound of her demos) for the one on Say You Will. This version would have fit quite well with the other songs on the album. To me, it doesn't fit on TISL... It was meant for Fleetwood Mac. Just needed John on bass and it could have been them.
@brandonjustice63382 жыл бұрын
@@GothicTrunk I always wondered why poor John was left out. Honestly when this first came out I thought it was John, sounds very much like a bass line he would have come up with.

This is way more Buckingham Nicks direction than Fleetwood Mac direction, IMO...it comes off as "hey, let's write one like we did back when it was just the two of us"...not saying that's how it went down, but it sounds for sure like it's how it ended up...hey, thanks for posting this...I never heard the other version of this song that folks below are commenting on...

He fell for her again She watched it happen Every day, day by day But more important Night by night She watched it all come into play He held her hands She listened to what he had to say Thrown down Like a barricade Maybe now he could prove to her That he could be good for her That they should be together You say you're sorry Now you should walk away But it's so overwhelming You have nothing left to say You can sit outside his door and wait Well, you can dedicate your pain to him Oh, thrown down Like a barricade Maybe now he could prove to her That he could be good for her That they should be together So long don't worry baby, there's nothing left to say He fell for her again She watched it happen Every day, day by day But more important Night by night She watched it all come into play He held her hands She listened to what he had to say Oh, thrown down Like a barricade Maybe now he could prove to her (So long don't worry baby, there's nothing left to say) That he could be good for her (don’t say your sorry baby now you should walk away) That they should be together So long don't worry baby, there's nothing left to say, don’t say your sorry baby now you should walk away About just how much he never really told her Thrown down About how difficult it had been to be without her Thrown Down Thrown down

At first I thought it was the wall of sound version. Nope. Great job Jeremy 👌
@GothicTrunk4 жыл бұрын
This has been called the "Wall Of Sound" version before. I do not call it that, because it was a made up name for it when it first leaked the year before Say You Will was released. They also had the name Fleetwood Mac on it, which is false lol. Wall of Sound actually refers to a type of song recording. Phil Spector created it in the early 60s with songs like "Be My Baby", "And Then He Kissed Me", "River Deep, Mountain High" etc. I don't know why it was labeled as such, because it is not that type of recording lol
@sillydreamer644 жыл бұрын
@@GothicTrunk I agree. I never could see a relation to Spector's "wall of sound". Maybe cause u re engineered it it sounds diff. I like yours much better. ☺️
@DamnRebel3 жыл бұрын
@@GothicTrunk You're both correct that this doesn't really sound anything like Phil Spector's Wall of Sound. I think the point is just that it's a much "busier" production, with far more instruments and voices going on than the more stripped down version Lindsey produced for Say You Will. This has more of a lush, 1970s FM sound to it-which is no doubt why so many people like it so much.

A lot of the difference is the mixing as well. The guitars are toned down and the vocals stand out much better. I'm a little partial to the SYW version. Both excellent. Some cool little guitar work that isn't on the SYW version.

Time for Stevie to do another rarities thing... I know 84-89 would be next, but I do wish that they would go ahead and put out that kind of stuff like they did with Bella Donna and The Wild Heart.
