Any way of having gas brought up by anyone following your run? How about taking gas from one bike and adding it to the second bike and ride it for gas. Gear could be removed to make for a lighter bike until you got back to the waiting bike and riding partner.
@roycollins72476 жыл бұрын
Just to let you know, I have been following you run since you were in Eureka, Nevada. I live near Ely, Nevada. There are some old mining roads in the mountains here that look very much like what you have just went through, but with switchbacks that are extremely tight turns. Safe trip guys!

Man...the tree spirits were smakin you down on that one! When I was 20 (28 yrs ago) I had a Seca 750 that I took trail riding as often as possible. On one trail I slid into a dry creek bed and had to drag the bike for half a mile, give or take, over the rocks down stream to get to the washout that I could ride out of. The banks on either side ranged from 6ft. to 15ft or so straight up. The bike looked like a war veteran when I got out but I still rode it for another year till an on road crash did it in. Almost lost my right foot on that one. Now I ride an Africa twin and dream of doing what you just did...maybe less trees though. Keep it up and ride safe...oh yeah...get a bow saw! They are the bikes blinker!

@noyopacific6 жыл бұрын
Excellent episode! It's not really an adventure until you have to overcome some unexpected adversity. I carry a folding saw. The saw teeth probably wouldn't have stayed sharp long enough to get through that many trees.
@mikethompson20075 жыл бұрын
We just rode this last month (sept 24th or so), None of the tree fall was there on the road leading up to the rock slide area but after the slide we had to go through those downed trees but there was a pretty good worn path over and under them.

Epic UtBDR story was waking up in the mountains to a fresh thunderstorm that made the trails basically the stickiest clay/mud that clogged every exposed moving part similar to your guys issue in Eastern Oregon in the other video......expect the five bikes from Triumph, Buell, KTMs and a BMW were only able to make it 2.67 miles in four hours and then we had to get the Buell towed out after the mud dried due to his fried clutch, blown for seals, and destroyed final drive belt. That was a VERY long day and ended the trip due to the heavy mud in northern Utah. Still a great story.

Check out the Sven folding saw. Lighter than your machete. Packs just as small. German blade. Cuts very well. Blade stays sharp a long time. Not like the Walmart ones that won't cut after 2 cuts. Would have saved you guys a lot of work. Thanks for taking us along on the adventure.
@adammitchell1156 жыл бұрын
If you notice, the machete has a serrated edge, which would've made that job so much easier.

Drank gallons of water the whole way. Got home to So Cal bout 16 hours later. Didn’t piss till next morning. I’d take that again over your ordeal. Awesome video guys.

You guys made one true Adventure thats for sure, you let nothing get in the way or stop you, the thing is you done it with a great attitude. Your personalities are one-of-a-kind and your friendship is strong thumbs up in my book. Now have you thought about trying to take gas from one bike and put it all in the other bike and and take everything off it possible to lighten the load and use less gas. One with all the gas makes the ride to get more and come back with for the other bike? Just a thought. Anyway one of the best Adventure trips on KZbin hands down great great ride, guys thumbs up...,stay safe..
