actually, i think he does give us or allow us to encounter more than we can manage or cope with in our own strength. He uses these things to prune and refine us. We are all fully dependent upon God, but only those under the secateurs of the Gardener (John 14) or in the fiery trials are made fully aware (e.g., Isaiah 48:10, Malachi 3:3, Proverbs 17:3, Psalm 66:10, etc.). As a result, these tribulations are gifts so we honestly appraise our complete need for Jesus every day -- really, every hour! In our weakness his strength is made perfect and therefore he gets the glory; all glory is due him. He is so generous in his lavish grace. We must feed on his words of Life and he will sustain us.
