Awesome lab Jeremy! I got stuck for a moment due to not putting in the routes to the serial point to point links. But after watching 2 minutes of your video your reminded me! Keep it up brother your a great teacher!

These labs are amazing, thank you for sharing them Jemery! - I have gained an imense amout of knowledge by putting some of the network concepts I was kind of familiar with in practice. I now have a much more strong knowledge on how the network is being organised, - forever grateful friend :)

I got a little lazy and only configure the routes to the networks where the computers where locates. I could reach every computer on the network but I realised that I could reach the some of the router's interfaces because they belong to routes that are not on the table. Somehow, I can reach a computer that is situated beyond an interface when I specified its location but couldn't reach the interface by each it's located. Which is very limiting. I guess this is the part where dynamic routing start to make sense! Great practice once more. As I stated before, I will not miss a chance to thank you. So here we go again, thank you very much for your work Jeremy.

You're teaching method is so effective, i didn't even need to watch the video this time around to complete the lab. But I'm going to anyways, just in case you show me something new.

Hehe I say that a lot in these videos

This may not be best practice but I was able to configure each router with only 3 routes, example: R1: ip route 10.0.2.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.12.2 ip route 10.0.3.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.13.3 ip route 10.0.4.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.13.3 I did this for each of the respective routers and each pc was able to ping. Im just curious what im missing on why this wouldnt be the right way to do it?

best lab for practicing static routing

Thank you :)

Attention: you could enter a static floating address for the those networks reachable via 2 routes. Enter the metric of 2. Is that correct? (update: this is is next lab subject.)

aside from what you did in the video, is there other settings? i am having trouble finding any issues with my static routes and i still cant ping
@AlfredXiao4 жыл бұрын
Stupid question: Why the need to add routes to the 192.168.x.0 net addresses? I would have thought that we could save two entries needed to be added to static route tables of R1-R4.

The lab instructions say '..to allow full connectivity throughout the entire network', so that's why I configured them. To enable the PCs in different networks to ping each other, you don't actually need those routes.

I always get so lost in this topic. do you know if there is a easier way to remember how each network goes where?

Nevermind! after focusing on the topology for 1 hour I figured it out. Thankyou so much for the video.
@JeremysITLab5 жыл бұрын
koollad101 Good job figuring it out! It will get easier with experience, I don’t know of any special ways to do it. Just take it slow and be methodical.
