No. In the case of a singular conviction; Once you have served out your sentence, you have paid your debt to society and are free to continue your life. Sentencing isn't just about punishment, it is also about rehabilitation. Over a decade later with a clean record you shouldn't be losing your job. Punishment served, rehabilitation achieved.

If a person was applying too be a teacher, or any job which had contact with vulnerable people and they had a conviction for child abuse would they deserve a second chance? It's all about what job. Just imagine how a council of school would be crucified if they allowed this.

It’s depends on the job but lots of jobs will check on your convictions before they offer you a job in the first place..
