I've loved following your journey because it's mirrored mine. Canadian that ended up living in WA state and has had to go through the immigration process. I got that same good news that my green card was approved in late May after 15 months of waiting. I don't think people who haven't gone through the process understand how it feels. It's like holding your breath mixed with imposter syndrome. I knew I was legally allowed to be here, had my work permit, etc, but until I got that card I was still always on guard. It meant not being able to visit my family in Canada, and I worried because my parents are getting older. I couldn't easily go if I needed to because of a family emergency. I did have a family member go through some health things last year and I couldn't be there to support other family. It was so hard. I'm so happy for you and the freedom and peace this brings. Merry Christmas!!!

If you get chickens, look at the Grandpa’s feeders…they are made so that rodents can’t get into it, and there is no waste!

YES! Get chickens :D I love them and have had them for 3,5 years now. You will abolutely and very very likely and sure sure sure regret not building you chickencoop big enough Because chicken maths is real! 🤪 I'm really not joking :D Build it good and with isolation. Get a automatic coop door and big enough run and you will have happy healthy hens. If I were you I'd place it near my house because mice is not an issue as long as you place the feed in secure cans. You will thank me for this advice in the winter and early mornings ;) I cant wait to see what you will be doing at your lovely lovely new place. Chicks, soap, dogs, garden, life....I love it :* Hugs from Norways west coast

A huge congratulation!!! Yes, I am an immigrant myself and remember that excitement and release from the green card and then when I became citizen back on 2012. It’s a very special moment and we are happy for you! On the other side pine tar and sandalwood vanilla are two browns good sellers for me. Specially the pine tar. Costco chicken are live saver for me. First day chicken with salad and rice, second day, chicken salad , third day tacos, four day soup and veggies. Can’t beat that for 5.00. Do something to celebrate even if it’s something simple like have a tea at your fav tea/ coffee shop. You earned !

Great Video Jerika!! So glad you received your card!! I knew it would eventually come!! Love your soaps so pretty! When I was a kid we had two hundred chickens, that many I probably wouldn’t recommend. Heheh. It’s good to move them away from the house (chickens can get very smelly) along with mice and field rats Yeck I know but true. We had beef cattle, we didn’t have time for milking that is a must at the exact time every single day!! It’s a full time job in itself My family did not vacation very often because they couldn’t find anyone to care for the animals while we were away however when they did it was a very important trip / quite costly to hire in help when they found it ( or should I say begged for help). I will say that it was a great experience for my family since I know how to pluck a chicken & process beef , lamb and pork in the kitchen heheheh. Good for husband that he married a farmer. Hehehe also , this may seem cringe but I wouldn’t have a large animal without a purpose because it is so much work and costly. This is the first year I hired snow removal because I am tired of working so hard I barely have time for my soapy business. In a small neighborhood house. As I said good to marry a farmer!! Heheheh.
@JerikaZimmermanКүн бұрын
Thanks! We are going to be careful with the number of animals we have for sure and will be sure to keep them away from the house! That's good to know too about the milking - that's something to consider for sure!
