The south as a whole took hip hop and put it in a strangle hold, HTown was first with RapALot, then New Orleans came with No Limit and CashMoney, then Atl ran through and went crazy for the last 20 years, now just because I say HTown and New Orleans first doesn’t mean Atl wasn’t there at that time, because they had artists that were going crazy, but business wise, RapALot, No Limit and Cash Money revolutionized the game, then Atl came and just locked it up to the point that all roads had to come through there

Look, I fux with JD in regards to his many contributions to music (both within rap & R&B). His So So Def record label is legendary, but in regards to this SuperBowl/Kaepernick shit, he was frfr on some Sambo shit. Jay & Wayne too. No excuses. JD wanted to go onstage at the HEIGHT of police shooting Black folks, despite Black mothers of victims telling him directly to his face that his antics was tantamount to betrayal. It's really sad to see him still taking the same stance that he did years ago. Some performances/looks or whatever are NOT it, because they are being done for the wrong entity. This isn't a difficult concept to comprehend.
@DJ-ll9hv
@DJ-ll9hv 16 сағат бұрын
The police shooting were propaganda…..black men have done worse crimes in other cities and police never shot them upon arrest. Besides Kaepernick was at work, why is he bringing a personal grievance to interrupt work? Also why did he get paid a settlement from them for what happened then years later asking to play again? So who’s really on the Sambo tip? Kaepernick played black folks like the fools we often are and y’all ran with it

@melvinhhcp3615
@melvinhhcp3615 14 сағат бұрын
@shakair False parallel. Players play the game to provide for their families. That's different than independent businessmen who choose to align themselves with the exact same entity that blackballed Kap in reference to his stance against police brutality! Jay took a bag to help silence him. JD & others performing for the NFL does not excuse what they did, or who they are.
@shakair
@shakair 14 сағат бұрын

JD is too seasoned to speak like this. What people don’t realize is it’s not a hip hop Super Bowl. It goes off the hottest artist at that moment And being marketable and have a pop cross over. Not saying Kendrick is pop but you think them white corporate people and sponsors want to hear back that ass up and watch the hot boys and birdman. No disrespect intended. People don’t really care it’s not about lil Wayne. A few people say it and social media gets some clicks and and the trend followers need something to talk about. During Jermaine dupri time for superbowl there were other distractions (other things people can get clicks about)

JD and Luda catalog, you can play for any crowd on earth... you can't play Wayne catalog for 30 minutes. That crowd who pays $2000- 5000 for a ticket dont look like us...haha. You have to play hits at the superbowl alot of his hits are really street. Have to go Kendrick, he can put 30min of mainstream records that do not alienate conservative fans.

@@EHN2024 Lamar has the better, then Luda. Again im looking at Maintime TV. Lil wayne best records are 20yrs old, Carter 2 and 3. How many Lil wayne Hits... u can play at the superbowl, he doesnt have nearly enough for 30min show. Lamar recent records are Hits, also have u seen a wayne show? Not good at all.
