Mesa Biomes (Badlands) are really useful, since they spawn with an insane surplus of Gold Ore. Protection against/Trading with Piglins, Golden Apples and Carrots, and just flaunting your wealth.

You are in a infinite world, you will have 3 strongholds close to the spawn, some will be without a portal atleast 1 will have the portal. The point is even if you go 20,000 blocks out there will always be a portal atleast 4,000 blocks away from the player.
