Watched this a few times last night. All day today I was visualizing what I had watched last night. Finally got to to the range and took a few practice swings my regular way and then finally hit some balls and I was still sucking. I went back and reviewed this video and got back on the range and all I can say is WOOOOOOOW!!! Out of 60 balls, 49 of them, for the most part, were damn near straight and on target. All of them were at least 250 yards or better. I WAS SOOOOOO HAPPY WITH MY DRIVER THAT I ACTUALLY LEFT THE RANGE AND WENT BACK W HOURS LATER JUST TO MAKE SURE THIS WASNT A FLUKE. I went back and picked up were I left off. I can't wait to play this Sunday and show off my new driving skills to the fellas. THANK YOU....THANK YOU....THANK YOU!!!!!

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 🏌️‍♂️ Make sure to get the driver path right to avoid slicing. 00:22 🏌️‍♂️ Focus on the "fast-slow-slow-fast" tempo in your swing. 01:08 🏌️‍♂️ Work on hovering the club and tilting your shoulders to hit up on the driver. 03:23 🏌️‍♂️ Ensure your spine tilt and head position are correct for an effective driver setup. 04:51 🏌️‍♂️ Practice hitting from the inside and avoiding pop-ups. 08:47 🏌️‍♂️ Work on staying behind the ball to avoid a pull fade. 13:01 🏌️‍♂️ Use contact tape to monitor your hits and learn what the misses feel like. 15:52 🏌️‍♂️ Aim for a square clubface with a slight tilt for optimal driver performance. 16:20 🏌️‍♂️ Focus on maintaining good tempo and hitting up on the ball for consistent driver results. 18:29 🏌️‍♂️ Embrace the journey of improvement and subscribe to the channel for more golf lessons and progress updates. Im not a pro by any means but your initial swing reminds me of mine a couple years ago. Im surprised I didnt hear him say anyting about it. That shoulder spinout move killed my driver swing for quite a while. A drill that helped me neutralize my path and not kick the club way out was to put my feet completely together and swing with ONLY your arms, keeping the left shoulder from spinning out behind you. Gets the arms and hands more synced feeling. With that club path and leaving the clubhead stuck behind you in your swing youll be slicing forever. Feet together also helps to keep you behind the ball on driver and not leverage forward and swing down on it. Again im not a pro but just watched your vid and your swing is so similar to how mine was.

Wrist was hinged upwards however i believe i heard the instructor say that would work itself out when the plane is correct. All the tour pros are either flat or bowed at impact.
@TheIrishdonie
@TheIrishdonie Жыл бұрын
It's the major reason he's still slicing, you can't get the club face consistently closed with a wrist that cupped. Flatten the wrist and he'll close the club face naturally. I'm surprised the coach hasn't spotted it but maybe he's addressing other things first to give him benefit of doubt!
@trevorhale3107
@trevorhale3107 Жыл бұрын
He is definitely still working on macro stuff here. Wrist bowing is kind of micro stuff that definetly will help, but I have found after a few hundred correct swings (on plane) often players will naturally start to bow or straighten the lead wrist. Once the setup and macro moves are good, then heading towards the wrist maneuvers can become the focus while all this stuff, setup, path are hopefully 2nd nature. If he can build the foundations right layer by layer it will come together. Keep going Jerome you got this!

More de-facto instruction. I have no doubt this instructor is good but he's teaching by getting the student to do something differently that he doesn't understand and then hoping that he figures out why he needs to do that. Instead if he taught, "why" and changed the thinking of the student, he wouldn't need to teach the "how" that would simply happen and the student will understand. Jerome is under the misconception that if he moves everything really quickly all at the same time the ball will go far. That's not how a golf swing works but because he believes that he constantly tries to do it. He has a few other misconceptions too ... like, the ball is on the ground so you have to swing "down" at it.
@mysticalbeing8943
@mysticalbeing8943 Жыл бұрын
thats literally how the golf swing works "if he moves everything really quickly all at the same time" and u do have to swing down on a golf ball unless ur hitting driver what do u mean
@HolyGrailOfGolf
@HolyGrailOfGolf Жыл бұрын
@@mysticalbeing8943 Watch a professional swing. Each part of the body moves independently and in succession starting from the bottom and moving upward. Everything does not move at the same time. Each part of the body transfers its energy to the next part and it's multiplied until finally reaching the clubhead. When everything moves together there's no energy transfer or multiplication of energy. When you see a player that has "effortless power," they're really good at moving each part separately so they make it look easy. What this guy's doing is essentially a giant putting motion and not a true golf swing. As far as "hitting down on the ball," if we stood upright and vertical we would have to swing down at it but we bend and tilt toward the ball which essentially raises the ball up to chest height or 90º to the spine so therefore in reality we're swinging level and flat much as people imagine a baseball swing works. His early extension problems stem from having to force the clubhead down which he has to leverage downward with his body which pushes his pelvis forward into early extension. I have a bunch of videos about this stuff on my channel if you choose to check it out.

It appeared to me that his shoulders were slightly open. For years, I’ve hit my irons clean with a slight draw, and sliced my driver every time. Why? The ball is further back in my stance with irons, naturally allowing my shoulders to close at address. I made a solid decision today at the range to MAKE SURE my shoulders were closed at address with the driver. It was uncomfortable at first, but I drew the ball every single time. Wish I would’ve focused on this 10 years ago.

After watching this guy for two months ( not for him, but for the awesome golf coaches...) it's obvious this guy does not really want to study the game of golf. No kid this age can spend his "life savings" living in San Diego and paying $150 + per hour (for multiple golf /exercise/sports psychology experts) to learn and play (9-hole) courses. I'll still watch... for the free pro golf / exercise / sports psychology lessons but... I won't ever believe this dude has spent his "life savings" to do this without some big $$$$ sponsorship. For now. I do appreciate the free advice from the many REAL golf pro instructors you've highlighted though. P.S. Sorry dude... I haven't watched a single second of you actually playing on a course, 9 holes or otherwise....
