Jerri Manthey talks about Survivor: Heroes Vs Villains

Having played twice before, Jerri Manthey was a seasoned Survivor contestant. This season on Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains, Jerri was able to crack the final four. Immediately after the live finale in New York City, Jerri talked with RealityTVMagazine's Ryan Haidet about her strategy, what it's like living with Russell and why she is so proud of her game this time around.

Man, I wish they'd re-edit this season with all 2 hour episodes. No doubt in my mind there was a lot of great material that didn't make the show. It will always be my favorite season.

Russell takes Survivor being a "game" too literally. You don't NEED to have some aggressive strategy and outfox every single person there. All you need to do is survive till the end and get the votes. i think Jerri really had a grasp on the most effective way to play Survivor her 3rd time.

I always thought jerri just rode coattails on hvv but boy, did this interview change my mind. I love how she throws shade at russell like a "newbie" :) clearly had jerri made it to the final 3 (and quite likely won, tho hard to say against sandra) we would have seen a very different edit. She speaks really well and wisely here.

@@whothis9949 I don't think it's clear with Sandra, imo it would have been 5-4 for either of them. Jerri would actually get a couple Sandra votes like Colby. and quite a few Heroes hated Sandra's challenge incompetence

benedict jadraque i agree.. i cannot forget the part when jerri was was devastated because of that dumb house rupert built. And also in her first season when she took control of cooking bec the chef was awful.

OMG, that was a scary storm they were facing! Thankfully she stayed. My take on that when am faced with something rough (probably not as severe), I can remember: Jerri didn't quit - nor will I.

alexisdiva9 100%, all stars is often hated on but as time went by it really became one of my top seasons - it is dark, yes, but damn was it super rough and real! And all those iconic characters and dramas...

Here Jerri convinced me. I was never a huge fan, I like her attitude though, she's good people, hillarious for sure :) And losing even her very unbiased vote, made Russel the ultimate social dumb ass. :) Wish you best Jerri :D

On Season 20, Jerri became a Hero, which was ironic. She deserved to win and maybe would have won Heroes vs. Villains if she was a finalist. If she survived Day 38, she would have played 90 days. Jerri is an awesome player and I think Amber was rooting for her to win Season 20 after Rob was voted out. The only wish I had for Jerri in Heroes vs. Villains was her eliminating rotten Russell on Day 18 instead of Rob because Rob is clearly a better player than rotten Russell.

@IceYourPimpHand True but had Russell played the game in the first seasons, like she did, he wouldn't have lasted for long because there were no hidden immunity idols. People keep forgetting that the only reason why Russell was so good was because of the HII. Without them in pre-all-stars-seasons he would have made it to the merge but then he would have been the 2nd jury member just like every too aggressive player in pre-all-stars seasons (like Jerri...)

CreepyFinnishGuy tbh i think any of the three - Parv, Jerri, Sandra - would have been a good winner. I think Jerri would have had a difficult time beating Sandra, but then again she would have the advantage of being a non-winner.

Jerri stole my idea at the end I've always said if I was going to make a big aggressive move I would have somebody else do it for me so they get all the hate and they get the Target on their back even though it was my idea

She did kinda save Russell, but she would have been one of the next to go if she hadn't. Rob definitely did not want her. I can't exactly think back to too many times when Russell was in complete control of Jerri's fate. He was mostly in control of everyone else except her (and he also failed to keep Candice in the game, as I know he wanted to keep her longer than Colby and Rupert).
