That picture of the face in the background is the front cover of a great album titled "Elvin Jones is on the mountain" and it features Jan Hammer on Piano and keyboards. It is a MUST-OWN.

in context of Jerry's - Melodic structures vol 1 we have 4 notes shapes to exercise with chord but it is somewhere a book with composing exercises ??? How to create a verse, chorus, and transition between them that everything could be consistent? How to create modal compositions in chosen mode? Or how to make ionian verse/intro, ionian # 5 break, ionian b6 chorus or/and, how to create compositions in a chosen genre flamenco verse/intro, jazz break, country chorus and classical outro these are much more interesting issues but I don't know where to look for training materials :( HELP

He's playing four note groupings and changing the order of the notes. When he says up up down down, he's talking about maneuvering around the block chord.
