I love listening to this genius called Jerry Cantrell. He’s giving us a glimpse of his mind, and how it he thinks. There isn’t many people who can do what he does. He reminds me of Mozart. Neither one can and 20:15 could keep music out of their head. Mozart could see his music before putting to paper and I would love to ask Jerry if he does as well. Jerry fascinates me.

Jerry seems like such a down to earth real dude. I truly hope i get to meet him someday so i can shake his hand and thank him for his art and try to convey to him how much it means to me.

Jerry stays relaxed. He never acts pretentious. He just is him and shares his inrellect and positive vibes to the world. 🥰❤❤

That was a fantastic interview with Jerry, maybe the best I've heard. Tyler had some good stuff to add as well.

What a great way to spend 36:39 minutes on a late Sunday afternoon. Lovely interview with the great Jerry Cantrell and Tyler Bates. I enjoyed hearing how songs come together, their organic process. I also loved that as a songwriter, Jerry keeps part of it for himself.

Very good interview & intriguing music your making, some songs off Brighten have a tendency to get stuck in my head for days! They play all day & night for several days even when I am sleeping

Hi Tyler, as I recall, we heard Man in the Box at Coconut Teaser on a trip to LA, Jan. 91.. It could've been in MN too! Great memories...

I would've loved to hear what Jerry thought of Tyler's band Marilyn Manson. It was cool hearing Tyler being an Alice fan before meeting Jerry.

I'm a little worried because my dreams make everything so hot but then in real life once it's mirrored, it's not so hot. Should I trust my dreams?that is the question? 😢😂I will never be in a physical contact relationship ever again with anyone ever again, so I figure I mine as well have good dreams whether they relate to reality or not,no?

It's always strange to hear an interviewer ask an artist to pin down their work and explain it from top to bottom. Instead of being appreciative of the art and putting some effort, trying to wrap your mind around it yourself for a second (or hours), people want an artist to give away everything they have. They have already put their soul and heart into it, isn't that enough? Be respectful, do the job, find out what it means on your own.

And it's funny that they ask when the answer is so obvious. Almost all of Jerry's songs are about his ex girlfriend Courtney, who he hasn't been with for 20 years

Hey message to Jerry. Hey I know sometimes I sound a little out there and I hope We all as humans want to better ourselves. I'm 60 years old I sit in my room and play Alice in Chains karaoke I mean every song mad season and what not old old tunes that aren't even on records that I have sunshine and other songs that you never hear of. I sing like Layne Staley. I don't do anything else I'm in the house all the time 99% of the time like I'm waiting in this incubator 😆 you ever need anyone else to sing for you Jerry I'm right here California nothing but time on my hands I'm a very trusting person. Take care 🤘

I bet the “demo form” blows away the album; felt very un-Jerry like - way to over produced…..opposite of the simplicity that always seemingly was Jerry’s sound. One of my favorite musicians I should add.
