One of the few recordings that I owned copies in 2 separate formats. I first bought the vinyl version at a used record store in 1989. In 2009 I came across the cd online which actually had a track not on the vinyl version. So being a fan of Jerry Douglas I wanted to make sure I had every recorded work he'd done on his personal projects and bought the cd just to have the CD bonus track called Middle of the medley.
Changing Channels is 2nd of 3 albums done for MCA Master Series. I have the 3rd album "Plant Early" posted on here on my channel also. The first album "Under The Wire" from 1986 was acquired from MCA by Sugar Hill Records and released again in the mid 90's.
I was certain that Sugar Hill was planning to do the same with Changing Channels & Plant Early but it never happened. Maybe the reason they only acquired and released Under The Wire was due to the fact that it was similar in sound and style to the other album of Jerry Douglas on Sugar Hill already
called Slide Rule.
